Hey Richard, you missed a great lunch. It was "guys with beards eat free day!" And they were serving a one time special of prime rib, all you can eat!

Phew.

As a computer geezer it still just blows my mind at what I am doing on my computer in an under an hour. I just ran the steps of the secondary data post processing. It generates close to 4 GB of final data. I compressed it into zip files and sent it to the client via FTP.

I so vividly remember back in the 1980s when Segate Technology came in to our studio and they had a prototype pre-production one gigabyte hard drive. That was just MASSIVE at the time since I had a the old style full height 5.25 inch 32MB hard drive. The one GB was the same form factor as today's drives. I remember thinks that I would never fill up a one GB drive.

I received two hard drives from Amazon yesterday. They are 6TB drives the same form factor as that 1 GB drive. They will go in my system as a mirrored RAID.

Good Hump day morning.

I wish it would cool off a bit around here. I am ready for fall. It is mid 80s outside. I have the ceiling fan running as well as the floor fan out in the hall blowing cooler air into my room.

I guess I will miss getting a Taco today. I usually get a burrito for Mexican food and I rarely eat Tacos.

My partner has a flight to do down in Texas, and I have one here in central Oklahoma. One of the few time is has been handy to have two airplanes. Mostly it is just stupidly expensive. Our hangar rent is an amount MORE than my house payment was for my first house. A two hour flight is about $100 in fuel alone.

I went to a friends funeral a few months ago. Today looking through the contacts list on my email saw their name, hesitated, and then hit delete. I can't think of any reason to keep the old contact info for them. 100% certainty, Ii will no longer work. It is just weird, click a button and they are gone instantly. Kinda sad.

Had everything in both my Mom and I's name so if I kicked the bucket first she could just keep on keeping on.
It was both sad a frustrating taking her name off everything.

The freaking @#!!*ng electric company required me to repay the deposit and did NOT give me our original back, the Crooks. Gas company was no big deal. When att tried to get another deposit with no refund of original, I just hung up and called back and cancelled her account getting the deposit back.

I still get mail from hearing aide companies and she never needed hearing aides. Also go some to her from retirement homes/villages. Called a couple sounding like crying saying she just passed away and their mails were horrible reminders. Didn't stop em, the feelingless idiots. If you are going to send mail to the elderly for hearing aids or to sell them something you should at least make sure you are not wasting money sending the dead people. No wonder that kind of stuff is so expensive.

Suppose if I hadn't turned off the house land line would still be getting those solicitation calls as well.

Went through the helpdesk tickets this morning and quite a few are falling thru the cracks because the people that review and assign the tickets don't know how to use the system. Not that I do either. Kinda glad I am not on the assign tasks list since we moved to the new system.

One request had been submitted that has been there for 16 hours. It took me 5 minutes to complete the request and another 10minutes to check off all the boxes in the help desk system and close it. In our old system it woiuld have only taken 1 minute to type in the resolution and close it.
