Yea, a lot of the small liquor stores are worried. The big stores love it.
There is a convenience store next door to a liquor store just up the street. The are owned by the same folks. Employees can go from one to the other, but customers have to go outside to go to the other store. All these years in Oklahoma liquor stores could not sell anything that did not contain alcohol. So they could not sell a cork screw, or a bag of ice or any "mixers." That changes as well. When Prohibition was repealed in 1933 nation wide, that did not apply to Oklahoma. They had state prohibition. Just like national prohibition it was mostly ignored. My dad said it was great, he could call one of two bootleggers and they would deliver whatever booze he wanted to his door in short order. In the 1950 a sheriff in OK county decided to enforce the law. After arresting several judges and politicians, they all decided to end prohibition. Our state constitution states that beer with 3.2% alcohol is not intoxicating (yea right) so it was always available. Many states have some really stupid booze laws. I remember in Pennsylvania I went to a local gas station and saw no beer. So I asked. I was told "Oh, you have to go to the beer store for beer" so I asked where the closest one was. I walked in an they had a cold beer cooler the size of many homes. Everything was by the case ONLY! So I could not get just a 6 pack, I had to buy a case of beer. Oh well. It was a lot of fun walking down the long hall of the hotel toting a case of beer to my room. As least it had a fridge.

Bolt a keg to the fuselage and run a hard line into the cabin. Install an easy-to-reach tap.

LOL!
Discovered how to answer my phone AND the solicitors just hang up. "Hello. Jello brand instant pudding. Jiggle jiggle jiggle." Five calls, that from the background noise were obviously calling centers hung up today. Made me feel good.

Beer on a flight can really cause a very bad need to pee. No way to pull over and pee in the bushes. I just wait until I am back home to have a beer or two. Bathroom is just a few steps down the hall.

Morning all. Yeah I see how that could be a problem while in the air.

Having stuck my hands and arm out the window into the 120 MPH wind reinforces one absolute fact. I sure don't wanna stick other much more sensitive body parts out there. And the cleanup of the fuselage would not be fun.
We get to the airport about 30 minutes before we want to take off. Get everything ready to go and go inside the FBO to sit and chat about the mission, and just before we walk out to the airplane, we hit the bathrooms and work and emptying our bladders. We both have a water bottle with us for in the air refreshments. On the HOT days, we ration that bottle of water and drink slowly. In the cooler temps it is no big deal. By the time we land, refuel, and get the equipment unloaded, we were away from the bathroom for two and half hours on most missions. The military jet jockeys are all much younger, and have some tough missions. No one has taken a shot at us from the ground or the air. We prefer that! One of my Air Force friends that flew AWACS had some crazy long missions. But they can go to the back, lay down and take a nap, and hit the head, and the galley.

They do make a Little John for small planes. Also, getting shot at my eliminate the need to pee.
Back in the day, the F4 pilots would freeze a baby bottle to they could only drink small amounts at a time and not drink it all too early. If you really had to, have the pilot go knife edge and you can pee down out the window! I wonder how Richard is doing. How is the Z Jim? Or did you take a Saturday to go sailing?

My dad talked about his days in pilot training in Enid, OK at Vance AFB. He was "under the hood" and learning to fly via instruments only. He was concentrating and he thought he was doing great. All of a sudden the instructor yelled out, "I got it" and of course that means relinquish all controls and let the instructor fly. He figured he had screwed up and was about to crash. There are no mountains near Enid so that was not it. He lifted the hood the the instructor said just one word. Buzzards. That instructor had been knocked out of the sky and was in a crash when another student under the hood hit a buzzard, and it killed the pilot. He had also hit a buzzard and managed to return to base. He was jumpy with buzzards. It was all written up and no problem with my dad. He graduated and was an Air Force pilot for many long years.

The instructor I had in CA was doing a ferry flight in a Bonanza when he hit a large bird crossing the mountains. He was at 12k feet when it came through his side of the windshield. He said it was a long time getting over the mountains so he could get down. I have not had a bird strike. Almost had a cat strike though in Madison. I think I cleared it by several inches.

I pay all my utilities and virtually all my bills electronically. Auto-Pay is a great thing. The day it is due, it gets paid and I have to do is delete the email. The credit union sends me an email that the bill is due, and 5 minutes later I get notified the bill has been paid. Two days later a paper copy of the bill shows up and says, DO NOT PAY THIS BILL. Somehow I still love seeing the electric bill show up and see that phrase, and just run it through the shredder. I got notified on my electric bill and city water-trash-sewer paper bill showed up today. The Natural gas bill still shows up on paper. The cable company only has it on-line. Same with AT&T.
I still vividly remember eating another meal of potato soup, rice with nothing but soy sauce, and mac and cheese to save the money to pay the utilities. When I bought my first house I was single, and I really should have waited another year. But I need a place to live, and I just did not like renting. I was spending less than five cents per day for food. Rice and taters are cheap. On Friday night it was payday so I could really splurge and pour a can of soup on the rice, and enjoy a beer. Screw those "good ol' days" of the early 1980s when my mortgage was a GREAT rate and way below normal. Only 12.5% interest for a 30 year mortgage.

I think if I bought a Colorado ZR2 to take off road I would ask for a refund.

Yea, that is not a good thing. Airbags need to be reliable and go off only in a collision.
