Phew. I got my interior back together. It should have been a 30 minute project at MAX. It was many hours. I though if I moved the center ac vent I put in with the ac upgrade it would be easier. Dumb posterior bone head idea. The bolt I thought was the one to remove was the wrong one. The bolt dropped inside the center vent piece. So I had to remove the entire part, take it apart, and then put it back on. Without photos it is had to explain. The Griffith’s upgrade parts are all genius parts and I was constantly saying dang, that is great design. Best instructions ever.

I finally got that done and replaced the fuel filter. Total pain in the butt for what is supposed to be easy.

Sounds like why I stopped wrenching.

Putting new injectors on the 928 is easy and right there on top of everything. Don't have time to do it myself, and haven't found anyone to do it locally.

So glad the power steering noises on the Cayenne was just a combination of the fluid being a little low and the weather getting colder.
Would have filled it myself, but dropping by the dealership, it took them 1 hour while I waited, and they did it free.
By the time I found the correct juice to fill it with, picked it up and put it in, it would have taken me as long and would have had to pay for the juice.
They also inspected it to make sure it wasn't leaking anywhere.

Times a million! Today I spent hours fiddling with things a pro would do in short order. BUT, I did things that were done the right way and no shortcuts. Most pros are full of shortcuts and the get it done mode is number one.

Oh boy. Found active records for 50 terminated employees HR nor anyone else informed IT they were terminated. Besides the monthly cost of licensing software, they have had access to everything they had access to before they were terminated. Their manager just gave their computers to the employee that filled their position. And the Help Desk staff have told me they have software in place to keep track of users, devices, and software. Yikes!

Glad I ain't responsible. Bet it's been messed up since the guy passed away that managed the computers and software licensing several years ago.

Tend to start cleaning when I work on stuff. Changing a light bulb can take hours.

One of the 928 guys everyone said he was OCD about cleaning and waxing his cars. He started a business and now calls it OCDetailer.

Hope you retire in a lot better situation than my brother Bob. His retirement is only $1200/mo. Don't know how he is able to make ends meet.

He only complained to my other brother about money until he found out how much my 928 was worth. Asked me how much he was getting from selling the 928. Told him the same as he put into buying it. The first thing he asks now is have I sold the Porsche yet.

Continuing the theme of easy projects that take a lot longer that first thought.....

It just took me 30 minutes to change a light bulb! The outdoor light bulb outside of the utility room was out. A simple unscrew and replace, NOOOOOOOO! I tried to unscrew it and the entire socket spins. No room to hold the socket, so I have to take the entire fixture off of the wall, take it to the garage, disassemble it, and fix the lose socket. Re-hang the fixture and then screw in the bulb.

I have a really cool piece of equipment in my office right now. It is a FLIR SC8300HD camera. One of the pieces of equipment that is as expensive as the airplane. It is literally cool in that it cools the sensor to minus 248 degrees. It has a little refrigerator in there that I can hear running, and that camera is huge. Google it if you wanna know more. Just know it costs more than a new 911.

It is NOT ours and we ain't paying fer it is the good news. We are using it for a customer's flight and it is just a project that we fly to the client's project, run the camera, and FTP the file to him, and FedEx back to him. Oh, and FedEx just dumped it on my front porch. They did not even ring the doorbell.

FLIR cameras are good tech.

I used the one from work to show my plumber where the water leak was inside my wall.

While mucking around with it at home it also showed that the missus had one leg 2 degC colder than the other. She went to the doc to have them check it out and a few weeks later she was having vascular surgery.

Heard a thunk like something hit the stockage fence out back. Looked out the window and there was a dark grayish bird laying on the ground. It got up, staggered a bit, and flew off. I laughed so hard. All I could think was maybe it was one of those birds that is Nearly Flightless, almost can't fly the comedian Ben Baily, host of Cash Cab mentions in his stand up routine. Never heard of a bird flying into a stockade fence. Windows yes, stockade fence, no.

Yea, just playing with the FLIR camera here at home to familiarize myself with the system, it is just amazing. It shows all the ceiling rafters and the spots in the attic were I have moved the insulation to be able to run a wire down the wall. It will show my footprints going down the hall after just walking down the hall. I pointed it at the chair I had been sitting in, and it was real obvious I had rested my arm on the arm rest for just one side.

It would be fun to look all around your house when it is both hotter and colder outside to see here the cold and/or heat is escaping.
Just don't think it would be nearly as useful when it's 73°F inside and out.

Might be fun to take pictures of your cars/motors, etc. with the motors running and warmed up.
