Morning all. Yeah that's one reason I stay where I am at the health insurance is expensive enough without finding it on your own.

Got 18 months on the current group plan with Cobra.

Am being recommend to open a checking account for the taxable lump sum severence, and $$ from selling the 928. And filing and paying the taxes in March 2021.

And ANY amount from a work from home job is fiscally better for IRA disbursement at retirement age than disability.
Just never thought companies would be hiring Remote O365 Admins.

Guess I need to trim my hair, shave the beard, and buy a new black suit, white shirt, red tie and write a short general resume'.

We had to make a run to PetsSmart for dog food. Two little bitty dogs, and a few months of food was 121 bucks. We went to the grocery store recently for 6 weeks worth of food, and it was less money!

Of course we do hit up Sam's for fruit and we eat out a lot, but still them doggers are expensive.

Yep, Jerky treats, and toothbrushing treats are more expensive than dog food. Pepper eats 3 cups of dog food a day. I get the grain free Purina Pro Plan stuff at the grocery store. My first dog started me on Eulanuba because of alergies. Pepper wont eat it. She likes the really cheap stuff they say is not good for dogs.

I use instacart and costs about 8 bucks including tip for homeland. They also do Sam's and Pet Co. I been using Chewy for pet stuff.
I got a seat belt for her, but need to get a good

We had to pick up some pills for the Labrador. Got some dog treats out of the pay per pound buffet. Turns out the beagle does NOT like ginger bears and the lab, who normally doesn't care about the flavor, really likes them. The beagle is a foodie. He licks and sniffs and hauls them around usually. This one he spit out.

Wow, a beagle that does not like a food product. One of a kind!

Our last longhair dachshund developed a thyroid problem as he aged. He would just start whining because he wanted something to eat. So we would feed him some green beans. The vet said green beans would fill him up some and be good for him. He snarfed them like they were treats. Our female at the time kept thinking if he was eating them they must be good. She would try one, and chew it some and then spit it out. He cleaned it right up. She would just stare at him like how can you eat that!

For treats I get Beggin Strip and some called nudges that are beef or chicken jerky. Sometimes I get Pupperoni. Have tried antlers, bones, ears. etc. Have not found anything she just chews on. If I get something with a squeeker cloth or plastic just chews on it just long enough to de-squeeker it. Instead of chew she likes to play tug-of-war and fetch. About the only thing I find her gnawing on is sticks out in the yard.

Our dogs get one little "dental chew" with each bowl of food, and at bed time they each get just 1/2 of a dog biscuit. The boss's wife is cruel and mean and will not let them have nay people food, and treats are small and only handed out at bed time. They seem to follow her around constantly so I guess they just figure that is how life is, no treats except at bed time.

I did finally resurrect my old workstation. It is only useful because of some old programs and setup files. It is just a i5 4 core CPU and 32 gig of memory. It has a ton of updates it needs.

I figured out that one of the mirrored drives of the boot drive on my old computer had a bad boot sector. It is supposed to boot anyway, and let me know. Some weird anomaly made it not boot with both drives connected. So I pulled the power to bad drive, it booted, had a zillion updates and all was well. I put in a new 2 TB drive, and it mirrored it after a few hours. It will be nice to have it available for some projects. I remember when I built it, it was fast. Now it seems slow but compared to my main computer it is a Model T. It will get ya there, just not fast or comfortably.

Morning all. Its a fun week. The powers that be are now beating on us to justify the hours we spent on a project so they can submit a change order. I told them ask the project manager who asked us to do the work. Typical day in the mess of engineering.

Going thru my spam quarantine noticed a lot of emails asking me to sell the house at my address. So went thru and answered each one telling them I would be happy to sell the house for $2,000,000.00 US Dollars AS IS. And would only be interested in offers of 2 million or higher. If they could not meet that sales price, do not contact me.

They were already in my quarantine so I don't actually receive them anyway. Besides, if they actually agree I would be happy to sell them my 160K house for 2M.

Yep, for 2 million, hand them the keys, and load up the dog and leave. Just buy all new whatever you need.

It will happen right after the congress all gets together and passes a balanced budget with no pork spending, and peace breaks out in the middle east.

Assume it is as probable as winning the lottery.

BTW
Using chaos theory I came up with a way to win the lottery with everything but the powerball. Have to buy 200,000 tickets to get one with a winning number. Would have to invest $600,000 dollars, but would win 2,000,000. Could claim the 599,997 expenses on the win for less taxes. Besides the 600,000 for ticket purchases the issue is buying 200,000 tickets for the specific numbers in the time between lottery draws. Have not figured that yet. Maybe using a printer to fill out the lottery sheets. Haven't spent much time on that because buying 200,000 tickets is more monty than i have. Can't even get that much after taxes if i cash out my IRA. But I have had the winning number as one of the 200,000. There are patterns in the random numbers that are chosen with the ping pong ball machines.

As long as the customer is paying for it!

that is probably not the case. The customer is probably wondering why the bill is so much and answering cause you added a bathroom is not enough.

Cool, more cool news. While the computer is on top of my desk, I unplugged on of the internal drives to hook up an old drive.

Years ago somehow there was a bad connection or extraterrestrials were trying to destroy my old files or something. The power connection for the hard drive just burned up. It fried the board in that one spot. It is all really tiny connections and my soldering iron was like trying to do trim nailing with a 12 pound sledge. So I put it on the shelf.

I finally found a replacement connector board, but the firmware was just a bit different, and it did not see data, just a drive. So I new the physical drive was OK, just not readable.

My business partner recently bough a really cool soldering and desoldering station for small circuits. I found just the connector on line, cut it in half so he did not have to do the data connector and the rest of the board. He soldered back on just the power connector, but it was a little crooked. It would not fit into an external drive module. Two separate cables work.

I am getting data files from 20+ years ago I feared were lost. Nothing earth shattering, but cool stuff I had forgotten I had.
