Brother with MS is getting a new wheelchair that has a portapotty built in. My other brother that died from MS had a portapotty wheelchair with a piss bag. Maybe that would be a cheaper solution than adding a bathroom. And employees can keep working and empty the chair pot on their own time!

Supposed to get a call from HR department from my old job for them to explain my severance package. They are also supposed to send someone to pick up the PC and IP phone I have.

Have not turned the PC on since furloughed 10 weeks ago. Don't know, it might not even boot.

You say that like it is a bad thing.

Glen, we have an external dock for extra SATA drives. Works well and can clone the drives as well.

Brent, I have one like that. It is great, especially for cloning a drive as a backup. I love it.

As you can see the power connection on the left is a bit wonky, and off center. To prevent the necessity of de-soldering all the connections of the interface board, even the parts not used, I just cut one of the new replacement parts up and had him only remove the power part, and replace that.

It ended up a bit too crooked to go into the external drive enclosure since it is fixed in place as a single connection. A separate cable, one for power, and one for data is a tight fit, but works great.

The old drive is just a one TB drive, and it will go back on the shelf and not used. Someday in the future, I might chunk it out. It works fine, inside a computer so it could be useful.

Today the computer is done and back in position under the desk. So I become the yard man and mow the yard routine. Computers can suck, but at least it is far less sweaty than mowing in July.

Yardwork done yezterday at 8am before it started heating up too much. This morning grocery shopping. Some kind of deal. "Free" Delivery is 1.50 plus tip. Not sure how that works out as "Free".

Phew, the yard is done. The humidity sucks. The grass was still rather wet from dew. It is mowed anyway. I am wet from sweat. A shower will cure that, then I will be wet from the shower! But we do have towels.

The house across the street is getting a new roof. I think every house in the neighborhood has a new roof in the last 12 months from the hail storm a year ago. We are the only ones that did not get a new roof, and that is only because we spent the extra money to get the hair resistant Class 4 roof. It seems to have been worth the cost.

Now the city has decided that any new roof has to have new plywood decking, even if the old decking is fine, it is just required to happen if the roof is replaced. I guess the plywood lobby paid off some politicians.

I mowed Monday, wife mowed yesterday and today dad is comping up with his tractor and will mow and bag it all for the daughters HS graduation party tomorrow. Kids get to pick up all the dog poop.

I have never seen hair resistant roofing before. No Motley Crue or Bon Jovi I guess!

Dang, those tricky complex words trip up my spelling every time. It is HAIL resistant. Of course it does seem to be hair resistant as well. Not one hair is growing on the roof. I guess it is earthworm resistant as well.

It's been 10 years since I re-shingled the roof, that's when I stepped on the nail that ruined my life.
And they drug that magnet around for 3 hours and it still missed one of the new nails.

We went to the PCA breakfast yesterday. We sat on a covered patio with the fans and breeze it was not bad at all for heat. We had a large area so we were spaced out fine.

It has been a very humid July. The humidity has kept he heat index high, but the actual temperatures are 1.1 degrees below normal for July. No one is complaining about that for sure.

This coming week is normally our hottest time of the year, and it is forecast for the 80s. I like that.

Talked about disability help to a friend last night that teaches hospice nurses. She said to get any real help I gotta get rid of my Porsche(s). People do not understand cheaper car seats pinching nerves and being a pain in the arse to drive. Told her kinda used to it because in the oil & gas industry manufacturing I was the only Porsche owner. More importantly 90% of the other emloyees drove more expensive cars than my used Porsche. My 2006 Cayenne was only $6000. Her Mazda cost a lot more yet she still thinks my Cayenne is more expensive.

Just keep the bill of sale handy. It is way cheaper than most used cars. The 938 will have to go but it is for sale.

Yep, 928 is going on Bat in what I am being told is a couple of weeks. Have lost ability to confidently drive the 5 speed. Would really hate to crumple it into something. Especially since it readily spins the tires in first or 2nd. Because it has PSD, it has the computer controlled locking rear diff it is way more controllable than those 5 liter Mustangs you see spinning of into crowds. And all the other Porsche controlled stuff to make it a stable racing platform. But no fun if you can't heel and toe up and down thru the gears.

4 wheel drifting a 400ft diameter skid pad. What going fast around the skid pad looks like.
Balanced to throtte steer drifting corners! Add a little throttle and it skids a larger radius. Lift a little and the nose tucks and it rotates in for a little tighter radius.

Sure reminds me of being able to drive a stick in anger! Was learning the fastest way around a single cone using the ebrake when the nail ended driving 5 speeds.

I refuse to use the parking brake to drive. Those rear shoes are expensive, and real pain in the butt to replace. I simply refuse to tear up my car even a little to shave any time off of a lap. At Roebling road the instructor kept telling me to hit the rumble strips at the apex and I would not. After we got back to the pits I explained, I drove the car here, and I will go back to the motel, load it up with luggage and drive it home to Oklahoma. I am not going to clip rumble strips and risk alignment or bent suspension to save a 10th of a second on a track day that is not even timed.

I have never really counted but in the 25 years of owning my 911 I have never missed a season, and likely have close to 200 autocrosses in the 911. I do it for the fun, and I simply can't care less about going the fastest. I have no chance against the computer driven cars and high HP cars of today anyway. But I have the most fun! And in a lifetime of autocrosses since 1976 I have never once hurt my car, ever.

The 928 parking brake is inside the rear rotor hub and have to be moved/adjusted any time you replace the rear rotors. On my 89 944 Turbo the rotors got so hot the parking pads deformed the rotor hubs but did not wear the pads. They were ballooned out where the pads pushed on the hubs. And I never used the parking brake on the 944. I've always considered brake pads, rotors, brake fluid, and tires consumables when autocrossing.

Never drove where there were bump strips inside the apex. There was a turn at the sheriff's training center where i would put the inside tires on the edge of the asphalt thru the apex of the corner to go faster.
