Good call on the harness Richard. We don’t take teddy in the car often but have started putting him in a harness for trips too. He also now has a padded seat for the car that is like a big bed that he clips in to. Took him on a 4 hour drive a few weeks back and he slept happily the whole way lol.

We did get into the 90s today for the first time in August. 91 officially but still below “normal” for the day.
The Autocross will be hot on Sunday.

Since I took my first Golden, Penny to go everywhere with me I trained her to make a snarly face when I made a fist. If someone tired to pet or feed her I would make a fist. The people didn't notice me making a fist, but would sure notiice her making a snarly face. Then they would ask if she bites. Would tell them she might unless I said it is okay. Then they would pet or feed her very tentatively. When I took her on walks in my neighborhood the kids would come up and she would snarl. They ask if she would bite. I told them maybe, but I would tell her it is okay and they would also pet her tenatively. Amazingly ours was one of the few houses in the neighborhood that did not get broken into by presumably the neighborhood kids.
I even took her to work with me on many occasions. She usual laid at my feet and nobody even know she was there. Walking to my car a coworked just walked up and kicker telling me he hated dogs. After being kicked she jumped on him knocking him over, and he was a big guy. Snarling in his face I called her off. Told him if he ever did anything like that again, I would not call her off. He was an arse hole to eberyone and gave me a wide berth after that. Other co-workers told me he told them about it and appreciated my dog. Penny was a fantastic dog, very very smart. Pepper seems slower to learn, but her first couple of years with us she was mom's dog and just needed to be her companion.

Make sure Teddy's harness is more than a collar, is a car harness and goes between the front legs. And that it is one that the ring on the harness you clip to the seat belt strap isn't one that comes loose and is Not on the neck. Of all that are sold and say are tested, only three brands will actual hold the dog.

Phew. Cooling off with a cold beer. The autocross was fun, but LONG. We had a very low PCA turnout, but the SCCA club was there in force. 25 cars total, and we made some money for sure with all the non members showing up. Without them we would have had 4 drivers and lost heavily. As we finished up it was 96 degrees, and heat index of 110. It was nice to finish the last run and turn on the AC.
I am just astonished how cool my 911 runs. 96 degree heat, full sunshine, sitting in line idling waiting for my next run and the temp never got quite to 210. On the way home I turned off the fan on the front cooler. The AC was ice cold, and the inlet to the compressor has condensation all over it after an 8 minute drive. I checked the engine with the fancy infrared thermometer, and the front cooler read 200, to the oil filter was 210 and the gauge showed 205. I love it. One picture I wish I had was all those cars with weird engineering and the engine up front, and water cooling, had their hood up, to cool off. One Corvette quit running because it was overheating. I never got to a full 210 on the gauge. I keep feeling like it is out of calibration or wrong, but the temps from the infrared thermometer show it is dead on. Air Cooled rules! ![]() No doubt about it, my 85 911 is the perfect car! ![]() ![]() I might be a bit biased, but only a little.

They hop those cars up and don't realize with increased power come increased heat.
One of the things I always added to my water cooled Porsches is Water Wetter. It made them disapate heat better, both block and radiator.

Actually neither. I was once again being a smart ass and implying the 911 uses it.

knew a guy whose wife picked up his 914 and the dealership had charged her to replace the radiator. He said he came unglued until he found out they had accidentally given his wife the wrong ticket.
He was in the Apple Club. I bought my first hard drive from him. It was s 20 megabyte Data Frame and I remember it had a system utility that kept the hard drive from fragmenting. He and his wife had hardware and software that used two of those sonogram wands hooked together that would make 3D sonograms of babies.

So how did the 928 test drive work from the Tulsa guy?
At the autocross it really strikes me how young most of the guys are. We have to check for driver's license expiration date. Several guys handed in vertical licenses. The state of Oklahoma has a vertical format for anyone under 21, and then it goes horizontal. It makes it easy to check for legal age to buy beer or booze. So a lot of them were under 21, and driving a 2020 model car. I guess at one time I was 19 and driving a brand new Porsche, so I can't say that is unusual. I got a lot of compliments on my 911 and several guys said it is cool to see such an old car out there driven on track. Mine was once again the only car from the 80s. Looking at the timing sheets all the other cars there was one 99 Camaro that was mostly a race car, the rest were from this millennium.

Moring all. Got all my chores done on Saturday so I could play with the 911 on Sunday. Dead battery as in past its 60 month life. No smiles for me this weekend.

David, your 911 is mad at you for not driving it more!
I do have a trickle charger for my 911 for the winter months. It is actually wired into the car, so all I have to do is pop the trunk, and plug it in to an extension cord that I just keep there ready for it. Phew, I just mowed the yard. Nice enough breeze, but 87 degrees and 56% humidity makes a 92 degree heat index. Once I was covered in sweat, (about 5 minutes) is was not too bad out there. The bad thing about mowing so early in the morning is now I am done, and it is just after 10:00 AM and a bit early for beer, even for me. I will save it for this afternoon!

I replaced the battery in 2013 with a 60 month one. So it made it and extra 2 years.

I almost never get the full term period from my batteries. I did get to 60 months on a 60 month battery, and it was still working, but I was about to take a road trip to Savannah GA. I figured I would just splurge and get a new battery before the trip. I would prefer to skip the dead battery in the middle of nowhere scenario.
I remember the days when batteries got weaker and weaker and let you know they are about to expire. Now they are fine one minute, and dead the next. One of the El Camino batteries was 100% fine in the morning commute, and I went to a physical therapist trying to see if my hip pain was something other than what turned out to be. Anyway, I went to go back to work and the radio would not even come on. I had a buddy swing by and we tried to jump it, and it would not even work that way. I pulled it out, he drove me to an Interstate dealer, and I got a new battery, and put it in myself. That old battery just shorted internally.

I'll have a new one this morning and in the car this afternoon. Should be good for another 60 months.
