All is well here.

Richard has hosted my email for many years, about 10 years or more. All was fine when he was there as administrator for it. With him still in the hospital, now with Covid, it was getting scary. The good news for us is his brother that is the CEO of the company he used to work for also had his personal email hosted by Richard. He got one of the IT guys from his company to come to Richard's house and check things out. I met him over there yesterday.

I have now setup a Microsoft Exchange email account and all we have to do is get control of the email domain and the web page domain and I can move it all to Exchange and let Microsoft host it for the same basic price as what Richard charged.

We may well have to pay the IT guy as a contractor for a couple hours of work to get the domain to my control, and make me the admin. At least we will never have to worry about a power outage at Richard's house or an internet issue at his house, or whatever. I will be sure my business partner has all the Admin rights as well, and we can have control.

With Richard isolated with Covid, not even his brother can visit, all we can do is get updates from his nurse. Richard's brother did not get to talk to the nurse yesterday so we have no new news.

I also found out that Richard's dog, Pepper is being kept by his next door neighbor now. The nurse helper lady was too busy and did not want a big dog. The neighbor knows Pepper, and his dog and Pepper are buddies and get along fine.

Pepper is overjoyed to see anyone. She is almost too happy, and overjoyed to see me, and I did not go inside the house that often. She has not learned to relax.

I saw the news last night that Oklahoma City has had more sonw this winter than Chicago. One little city in the panhandle has had over 32 inches so far this winter. We had about 6" total in the metro area.

It was 50 degrees yesterday and supposed to be that again today. All that is left is the snow in the shade along the north side of of things, and I bet it will all be gone today. Overall, since I did not have to drive in it, it was no big deal at all. My car did not even get dirty.

Hopefully the snow hold off a few days. Our daughter travels from Tulsa to CO this week. Then flies from CO to Madison the 23rd. After that, I don't care if it snows.

The forecast is for clear skies until after Christmas at least. She should be good to go. Assuming she goes up into Kansas and across to Colorado on I-70, the most BORING drive ever. Drive for a couple hours, stop to pee and drive for hours and stop to pee, and the rest stop and the area looks just the same as the last time. It is like the twilight zone, and you only think you are moving.

The good news is traffic moves along at 80 so eventually the Colorado border shows up, but the scenery is about the same. Eventually you see some mountains in the distance. I guess it depends on what part of Colorado she is going to.

If she is going to southern Colorado and drives out through the panhandle of Oklahoma, it goes on forever. There is some cool formations and the Gloss mountains to break up the scenery.

The van driver is limited to 65mph and has to take a break every 2 hours.

Then it will take forever to get across Kansas. I always said anyone that thinks the nation speed limit should be 55 MPH should be dropped in Kansas City, and told to drive to Denver, and if the speedometer hits 56 MPH they get an electric shock, they will decide 55 is way too slow. It might have been OK in the little bitty high population New England states, but it sure sucks in the rest of the country.

She will indeed think it is the Twilight zone if they stop every two hours and all the rest stops look just the same, and the scenery is the same. Flat fields of wheat. At least the winter wheat will be green.

Even worse, they are going through Amarillo.

The worst thing about Kansas and parts of Nebraska is you see a water tower and it takes to hours to reach it. New Mexico has some boring stretches as well, but not as long as the Kansas treadmill.

The random pics thread looks like some of our stuff. The engineer the architect hired put the condensate pipe right about the 740w PoE switch. Duh. They then had to add a shield and drain to keep the water off of it. They then did it again with a pressured pipe in the new section. I wish I could post a picture of it.

Hey, they can stop at the Caddy ranch and paint some graffiti, and then stop and get a 72 ounce steak. I loved the interview when the owner watched the one professional eater eat 3 steaks in 20 minutes flat. He was saying few humans manage to eat just one in a hour, and she just did three in 20 minutes. He was flabbergasted. He said something like this is just incredible. It is not just the meat, there is a salad, baked potato and dinner roll and shrimp cocktail with each meal. She ate all of that three times.

I heard from Richard's brother. Richard is off of the ventilator, and over the symptoms of Covid. He hopefully will be transferred to a rehab facility that does not give him any more diseases as soon as he can eat and keep it down. So things are finally looking up.

We get some high 50s and almost 60 degree weather tomorrow. I like it.

I have been informed by the boss's wife that "we" are going tree shopping at a tree farm 50 miles south of here. Oh Joy.

Good Morning, it's been a long time. I have been incognito on here for the past 5 years. Life tends to be like that, especially when you have to kid.
