We made it through Monday!

Dang, it was a long day for me. The one client that has us fly a project then extract data is a particular way was on a tear again. He has to have his data delivered in inches, not feet. So it is a 12 inch data set, not a one foot data set. After we get on the ground and run the images through the first high dollar program then we beat on the data to extract the data points he needs. I had been using Version 17 of a great program. I installed version 17 on the system and used that. Somehow it turns everything back to feet. I finally downloaded and installed version 19 for just $500 and managed to get it to spit out 12 inch resolution files. Evidently the software he imports it into can read the decimal points and they are truncated with one foot resolution files.

After beating my head on the wall of frustration I got it to do what he wants. It was like groundhog day for a while. Now today if the weather holds we will go collect more data.

Morning all. Fun night at my house. Room full of kids playing a role playing game. Stupid school has standardized testing this week so it late start every day.

I have a Durametric, cable and software that does what the PIWIS does only a bunch cheaper.

However...

I bought it to be able to recalibrate the air ride height on the Cayenne S. Did not get a chance to hook it up before my Porsche shop lowered the ride height for me.

They also set the ride height on the Turbo, BUT it is messed up. Once side is lower than the other. Tried to hook up the Durametric and it won't talk to my turbo. It is supposed to work with 3 vehicles. It stores the serial numbers in the cable. It has no serial numbers stored.

The Reebok Men's Classic Renaissance Wide 4E. Several years ago they quit making the wide version. I tried to stuff my foot into a normal version but that was not gonna happen. I had to sell that pair on Ebay as unworn shoes.

I decided to check again for the availability and after 4 or 5 years, they are back!

I just order a pair. No going to the show store for me.

I love the tread pattern on the Classic. If I step in some dirt they are super easy to clean. The new balance pair I have now has a super intricate tight groves and it takes a brush and a small pick to clean any mud or dirt out of the tread.

I have worn New Balance sneakers for decades. I wear Rockports for work. They are nearly as comfy as tennis shoes.

Eldest daughter now has a job. She is excited. She also has to have 90 hours of volunteer work for school. She likes to volunteer in the IT department and the Activities department. She likes to do the mundane stuff like programming the switches and cleaning up Active Directory. She likes to confuse her classmates by saying stuff like "I ran putty so I could reprogram VLAN 100 to be untagged on port 23 of the distribution switch and removed the other VLANs". She is such a geek.

The New Balance shoes I have now are called a wide but they are just a 2E and a bit tight. My right foot has developed a callous on the side of my big toe. Once I get my 4E shoes I will work on making the callus go away.

I have a big head, big nose, big hands, big feet and a no further comment.

I have a Durametric like yours that works fine for my '04 Turbo...but, I am not smart enough to do anything but check and reset codes. How would you know how to do the ride height or...other? Some sort of manual?

I used to wear the wide New Balance...but now wear/like a Brook shoe in 4E much better. Nice and wide...plus, the version I got Brook "Beast" helped a lot with my running/shin splint issues as it is more stable than most.

Learned about the Durametric and setting ride height on the 6SpeedOnline Cayenne forum. Re-calibrate the ride height like you would if you had to replace a sensor. Only can add 25mm to the actual height measurements and it lowers the ride heights by 25mm. One guy used it to raise the ride height to fit bigger tires. The Porsche docs for measuring points and heights are on the internets. It is 190mm front and 236mm rear ±10mm. On my CayenneS with air suspension we lowered the front by 25mm and the rear by 35mm by putting in the heights of 215mm and 271mm.

Looked pretty good to me...



Also made it so on the Low Level elderly Mom could get in and out easier than even a car.

There is a tutorial for lowering the ride height on 6Speed that goes thru all the steps but doesn't tell what the settings are supposed to be. Had to google to find the Porsche specs for that and the points on the suspension you are supposed to measure to.

The instructions for all the stuff you can monkey with using the Durametric is in the manuals on their web site. It is supposed to do everything the PIWIS can do.

morning all. Stopped by the storage unit and picked up a load for good will today. One more I think then its time to call someone to get the furniture and be out of it.

We just had my brother and sister in law come up and we all went through my parent's house and got the stuff we wanted. The rest was still a house full of stuff. We hired a professional estate sale guy. He said once we sign the contract 30% of everything in the house is his, unless it is paperwork or some personal item that is sentimental value only. He brought in tables and spent a week setting it up and organizing each item. He got he permits and ran ads in the right places.

He actually hired us as workers and we had some friends come help and they were paid for the work. He sold a ton of stuff that is amazing anyone wanted. 1/2 used boxes of laundry soap and junk. The washer and dryer were sold to the first couple in the door and they had been waiting for over 2 hours to be first in line.

In the end he had a full accounting and all the receipts. It was not that much money, but it all went to people that wanted it at a fair price. What was left went to Goodwill and they picked it up. Heck that entire episode is likely chronicled in the pages of this thread somewhere as it happened.

Wonder if you could make and sell little plugs that go in the charging jack on a phone. Mine keeps getting stuff in it that I have to take to a tech to get cleaned.

Glen, thanks for letting me use the PC to see if my Durametric cable works.

The cable does work, just doesn't like my Mac laptop.
Also since visiting the air suspension adaption settings, but not setting them, now every time I start the Cayenne I get an error on the dash that says..

Faulty
Workshop

Looking up the error number it says there are no ride height settings saved.

Gonna have to get ma a laptop and put in some numbers to get that to not come on.
Specs are at least 1.8 GHz dual core.

Yea, I am sure EBAY and Craigslist both have cheap old laptops. That should be easy to find. THey sell gazillions of laptops and now tablets that have those specs or way better.
