Don't know why our marketing department creates such large graphics for announcements when they are rarely, if ever viewed wider than 800 pixels. And they add to the complexity by making them PDFs. Think it is also crazy that most internal emails include a big graphics based signature with the latest company ads and web links etc. For internal emails my signature is a single line with my name, title, and phone. No graphics. For external emails I use my name title, company contact info and a small logo. I am not in sales it would do no good to include any sales literature as part of my signature in emails. Find ads in email communications email as annoying as TV commercials.

Our marketing department likes to do the same here for some reason and then complain when the emails back and forth go over the 10MB limit just in signature logos.

I said why not have the small logo and use text for the rest and was told you can't do that. Um, OK then.

They also complain when the recipient rejects them as SPAM and then how can I fix it so it doesn't happen again. See above.

That's unreasonable and stifles our creative output

Our marketing department uses Mail Chimp. We have trouble getting the internal emails they send passing our own spam filters, and yet they wonder why customers don't receive their mail chimp emails.

Buy hey, don't have to worry about that no more. After 28 years of managing the spam filter I do not have anything to do with the spam filter.

Just this morning someone complained that they were not getting emails from a particular person. After the task had not been resolved in a couple of hours I did a message trace and found emails in question had been moved to her spam folder. It has be four hours now and even though she stated it was very important and she needed to receive the emails as soon as possible, the new guy in charge of the spam filter has not resolved the issue.

I know better than to point it out because that would give them and excuse to fire me under the "managing people out" scenario.

Nephew had me read a book called Eat Dirt. It's about how the bacteria and microbes in your gut can have a lot to do with your health. They killed off everything killing that MRSA thing. Wasn't diabetic or having any prolems until after that MRSA. I know they killed off my gut bugs because I got horrible yeast infections. Considered fecal transplants just couldn't find any doctors to do it. This guy has some kind of fancy dirt with lots of good bacteria and microbes that are supposed to make it past your stomach.

Also found a TED talk about peoples diet and what you really needed to do was have your gut bacteria and microbes checked and your diet based on the results.
Said they discovered for 71% of people ice cream was better for them than brown rice. They thought brown rice would be better because so much of the world population eats it.

Sounds like I need to find a doctor that is really into poop. And not just looking around with a scope.
Actually evaluating poop microbes is so new the results vary wildly making it difficult to determine much.

Great Day in the Morning.
Burned a Vacation day today and took off work. Sure hope this is NOT retirement practice. Got two eye doc appointments.

The wife of my brother with MS that live across the alley/street fell and broke her hip last week. They are both rolling around in wheelchairs now. Offered to let her use the crutches from my foot thing and she says she would rather use a walker. I don't understand how a walker is easier if she is not supposed to put any weight at all on that leg. When i broke my femur they made me go thru their obstacle course on crutches before they would let me out of the hospital. With my foot thing I was able to use a walker because I could put my knee on the chair shelf thing and roll around. Was supposed to keep my weight off my foot, not my hip.

Happy no longer Monday day.

Richard, they had an interesting show on Nova recently about the poo transplant. They even talked about the donor. They are all young (20 to 30s) very active lifestyle and good diet. They just "go" into a bag-box and hand it to a technician. All they do is water it down with distilled water to make it very liquid. Then they make large (huge) pills and the patient takes 30 of them in one sitting. Just one giant pill at the time. They showed a lady dutifully swallowing all of them.
She said her symptoms went away in short order and she felt better than before.

Maybe that 2 girls on cup video was supposed to be an instructional health video?

The show I saw a couple of years ago they gave the recipient a poo enema. Guess if people can swallow those balloons full of drugs they can take poo pills.

The show I saw they were in England. They were curing MS. The donors were leaving a brown paper bag on the doorstep of the doctor's office. Kept expecting them to light it, ring the doorbell and run.

They claim the problem with analyzing for microbes is getting samples to the lab quick enough. If it takes very long all kinds of other microbes start growing and get in the way. They do DNA sequencing to see what is in it. One of the labs is called American Gut.

Everyone is full of crap, some just expel it better than others and some expel it out both ends.

By the way, Arstechnica had a good article on what the artificial sweeteners do to your gut fauna and it isn't good. The study said it takes years to get them back to what they are supposed to be and some never recover without a poo transplant.

Do or do do. Or Eat Dirt. Dirt from the Himalayan mountains rich in centuries old microbes.
