Hope your physical goes well! I also hope he doesn't play Olivia Newton John during the exam!

Olivia Newton John reminds me...

Just after college I tried to drive my 4x4 Blazer on 2 wheels like you see them do in the movies. Got the bright idea could use the end of the guard rails that look like ramps. They don't work like ramps! Not even with a 4x4. Ended up pushing the front tire up into the fender.

It was on the highway about 5 miles from where we were partying at the lake. Had two other guys in the blazer. We had gone to a couple of bars to pickup some girls to take to the lake party. Every time I would get some young ladies that were interested in going to a lake party one of the two guys with me would say something stupid. So, I decided to just get drunk.

After "hitting" the guard rail one of the guys just ran off, running to the party. I decided I needed to get all the beer out of the blazer and in my mind threw it all in the median. Before =the cops got there the guy that ran off showed up in another car from the party. Still don't understand why we didn't all pile in that car, go to the party and report my truck stolen.

The cop asked what happened and I told him about trying to drive the truck on 2 wheels. He cracked up. Then he commented about the case of beer than had been distributed in the median. The funny thing is while randomly scattered they were all set upright. Arrested me for DUI. He was a really nice guy. On the way he stopped and let me get something to eat, and then again to get a pack of cigarettes and some matches. By the time they gave me the blood test and I was just barely over the limit.

Even after I got to jail they were pretty nice. Guess because I wasn't an obnoxious or violent drunk. Also overheard comments that one of the guys I was with had the same name as some local politician. They sat me on a bench in the foyer for hours before they put me in the drunk tank. Found out later, they weren't even watching me and I could have just got up and walked out. Learned that after I got put in the drunk tank from one of my HS teachers that also go tossed in the drunk tank that night. They brought him in, booked him, and took him to the drunk tank while I was still left on the bench.

What made me associate this memory with Olivia Newton John? The whole time in jail somewhere the song "Let's get physical" was playing so you could just barely hear it. Over and over. Every once in a while you hear someone yell to shut that noise off.

I have been down to the police station a few times. Always as a guest and not under arrest. They used to have their own photolab for the crime-scene photos. A local OKCPD officer was killed out at the airport and the crime scene photographer knew me real well. In fact, he shot my wedding.

Anyway he wanted to re-chem all the chemical tanks for the film processor. Normally that is just an initial processor install and you just replenish the chemicals as they are used. Their processor was way balance and they were getting really bad results. So dump all the tanks and start over. Most of it is easy. Except for the called "bleach" and it is nothing like any bleach you know. It bleaches the silver halide after as a step in the process. Anyway, the chemicals Kodak sells are designed to be used as replenish, not startup so one has to add a "starter" to make it the proper strength to process film.

The starter for bleach is bad bad stinky pookie. When I was setting up the processor at our office I had everything set up, I hyperventilated, held my breath, and opened the bottle, measured the right dose, and put it down, and ran out of there. It stunk up the entire building for the night. It still reeked in the morning.

At the police station I told the cop to go get his best gas mask, and he was going to get to add the starter. I told him I would wait in the hall and told him to turn on any exhaust fans. He said even with the gas mask, it was horrible.

He stunk up the police department, and that is hard to do.

YeeHaw,
Had random drug testing where they randomly pick people today. The first random test I have not had to participate in since I started working from home.

Yikes,
At 6pm was called and asked to immediately lock out our top AS400 programmer for Employee Separation. Would never have expected him after several years to refuse or not pass a drug test. This is the first time they have done spit swabs instead of lemonade testing. I usually have to do the hair test. His boss could not say why he was let go. But was pretty upset, he is going to be tough to replace.

Some people just feel that what they do on on their own time is not the company business, and are willing to risk termination if a random test shows they are using an illicit drug. Your company rules are very clear. Use something besides alcohol or prescription meds, yer out. As a private company, they have that right to make the rules that suit them.

It will be interesting to see if they bend at all with prescription medical marijuana. Likely not. The state may say it is legal, but the feds consider it illegal. Since they control the DEA, ATF, OSHA, FCC, EPA, FBI and a thousand other agencies and the banking system, they make the rules on drugs.

I have never had a random drug test. I have always worked at a small family owned business. I showed up and did my job, every day with very few sick days in many long years. I have always been way too cheap to use drugs. Beer is cheap, legal and available almost everywhere.

My doctor likes to get his annuity from me in the form of a physical, and full blood work and urine testing but he is not testing for drugs, just health. In the 6 gallons of blood I had donated, they have done lots of testing on me. Mostly for blood borne thinks like hepatitis and HIV and they always checked my PSA and cholesterol.

Morning all. Yep living in a state where its legal doesn't mean it will not cost me my job when the feds still don't like it.

If you test positive for alcohol you still get sacked. Don't know what the level is though.
The pot level is high enough second hand hemp huffing will pass

The spit take usually only finds what you did in the last 1 or 2 days.
Cup of Lemonade, 1 - 2 months.
Lock of hair, 6-8 months.

kinda interestng, we started the meetings off yesterday with bagels and coffee. We actually discussed if we though THC was going to get you fired when the medical thing goes live. Mentioned you can test positive for opiates from lettuce. You do have to eat a semi-trailer full though. Also discussed that booze will be available at the local grocer and liquor stores are having big going out of business sales.

Myth Busters proved you can eat a poppy seeds and get a positive drug test. One of my truck driver acquaintance friends said he was almost fired for eating a burger with poppy seed buns. He will not eat them now.

We have company sponsored "boys night out" and my business partner, one of the contractor pilots we hire to fly and myself all go to a local bar and discuss the airplanes, the flying schedules and maintenance issues. All while trying to decide which of the beers on tap is the best. Lots of important business is discussed! And a little BS as well.

Attendance is mandatory!
