For something sweet I would take ice cream over anything else. If I have a late night snack it is usually some type of cheese like curds or sharp cheddar for my protein and popcorn for my salty snack. Usually a throwback Mt. Dew to wash it down.
Sometimes I break down and have an oatmeal cream pie. Deer season we have Zingers on hand for a quick sugar boost along with chocolate milk and/or egg nog. We eat poorly during deer season.

After a painful bit of oral surgery the surgeon wanted me to leave the packing in place overnight and take it out when I wake up in the morning. He suggested just eating some ice cream to get something in my stomach, and make me feel better. So on the way home I stopped and bought some ice cream, and I knew Mrs Carrera was going to want to "share" with me so bought her some as well. I told her to stay out of mine since it was "medicine" recommended by the doctor. So we usually refer to ice cream as medicine. About once per month I will buy a (what used be be) half gallon of ice cream from the dairy store around the corner from my house. I think it is a pint short of a half gallon now. I don't worry about the volume, and just serve some up in a bowl. In my opinion their best is peatut butter cup. It has little tiny versions of Reeces peanut butter cups mixed in. That and the chocolate chip cookie dough are really good.

I buy the packages of 12 single serving 1/2 cups of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Pepper gets the last couple of bites of each and cleans out the cup. Now I just gotta work on her putting them in the trash when she's done.
Have to eat a snak at bedtime or my sugar tanks while I'm asleep. Sometime it tanks anyway. That;s why I'm training pepper to wake me up when my sugar gets down to 70. One evening last week she woke me up barking, licking and nuzzling my hand. Had fallen asleep watching TV before i fixed dinner. Commercials can be dangerous. Was dreaming about being somewhere they were fixing strawberry short cake. Havent had that since I was a kid. Pepper woke me up before we got any. Ate a banana and gave her a pupperoni.

Noticed the Milk Bone brushing chews are not in the grocery or pet stores lately. They are Pepper's favorite. She gets as excited as around new people and will say " I want a chew bone." So inquired on their web site.
Thought it was interesting the web site is labeled Big Heart Pet brands and is a subsidiary of Smuckers.

Lost my desire for chips and salsa and home made nachos since they quit making Doritos Toasted Corn chips.

I have no idea what the Milk Bone brushing chews taste like. Just know that they are Peppers favorite.
Can't hardly even stand to scoop out her favorite Pro Plan dog food let alone even trying to give it any sort of taste test myself. It smells like dead rotting animals to me. The last dog food I got her she liked was a soy free all natural salmon based food. It smelled like rotting fish. She loved it. I can tell because after eating a food she likes, she gives me lots of kisses wants too sit on my lap.

What does cat food taste like anyway, is it fish or is it mouse? Ain't trying it either.
I know when I first moved to this house the front yard had a cricket problem. Think they are called short tailed crickets and come from grub worms. They make little dirt piles in the gras and eat grass roots. Anyway my brother with MS started letting his cat out. It suddenly got really fat and we had no more lawn crickets or those little dirt piles.

Our last pair of dogs ate the crickets when they were puppies. The female continued to hunt them, and kill them, but she quit eating them as she got older.
Our current crop of dogs just ignore them. But lizards and toads are open to harass. He has killed a few of the lizards, or to be accurate, skinks. Most of the time the skinks get away. The toads just puff up and he pokes them with his nose a few times and gets a snort of the toxin toads produce and he backs off and barks. We have tiny little brown snakes that look like worms, only they have eyes, a mouth and a tongue. They actually eat earthworms. Anyway he will kill those if he can find one. The 4 foot long rat snake that came through the yard was just barked at. Mice are open season. Rueben, the male is my early alert system for mice. They usually appear under the storage building. I put out traps and Ruben gets some and I get some and then the population goes away, which was my goal. I wish he would leave the skinks and snakes alone, but he will hunt anything in "his" backyard.

Thpught this was interesting.
SIL just posted an article on FB that the best treatment for venomous snake bite for dogs is Benedryl liquid for imflamation and to help their liver process the venom. Said the only dog deaths from snake bite has been if the got bitten in the tounge or mouth and it swells up and chokes them. The vet said he has treated dogs as long as 24 hours after the bite with no real issues. Said anivenom is expensive and doesn't do much for dogs. That vets give it mainly to protect themselves from lawsuits cause they can say in court that gave the dog antivenom. My first vet gave me a Benadryl syring for my first Golden. Said to give it to her for ANY kind of bite. She was highly alergic to flea bites and would get itchy all over, and her skin would swell up so much she looked like on of the Shar-peis. It worked wonders.

I would give any article on Facebook a maybe 10% plausible rating at the very best. Many are total BS. It will totally depend on the snake, and the size of the dog. A cobra can kill an elephant. We don't have elephants in Oklahoma anymore because the cobras killed them all. Well OK, that ain't the real reason.
Snake venom is not just an allergic reaction, it makes the blood do bad things, or the nerves.

Just watch FB because that's basically the only way some of my estranged family communicate. That does not include the one that recently married and has a 1yo little girl and now identifies as itslef as female.
Thought the Benadryl article was interesting because of my vet giving me that for my first Golden. Told me the over the counter pills would work, but gave me the syringes because it would work much faster.

I only do Faceplant to see what some of my friends and relatives are up to. I post very little, and read the funny stuff, and just ignore any religion, politics, or stupid stuff.
