Learned on my black 944T that peak don't mean nuthin because of the turbo lag.
The white one at 275, and the black on before I boosted it up to 400 was faster than the black one at 400.

When I was at Hallet with the 275 rwhp car I was trading laps with Ron Forstall in his RUF. He was very fast, and came over to see me after the session because I was trading laps with him.

More than just horsepower matters, also suspension setup. My suspension was setup on recommendations from Andial, that setup the 917s. It was stiffer than stock, but softer than the 944 cup car setup. Something about a turbo will be slower with rear suspension that is too stiff.

I was able to hit 105 at both the Lloyd Noble parkinglot and Sheriff's training center parkinglot autocrosses in my white 944T. The start to those straights were entered slower, 40 and were much shorter than the back straight at Hallet.

The suspension in that Panamara was a comfy luxury barge, and I was in the back seat with more leg room that any commercial airplane. And it was air conditioned nicely and pretty quiet.

Phew, another session of lawn mowing. My brother and his wife, and his wife's brother are arriving her in a few hours. They are stopping for a shower, and dinner that we are cooking. They are in the motorhome, and likely spend the night here. On the way to Colorado to see their youngest son.

That meant I had to get the yard looking at it's best.

You can do my yard next.

I need to mow but I didn’t get past my garage. I guess I’m going to be turning wrenches for a while.

The mean boss is making me work today. I guess since he let me off on Thursday to go play it seems fair.

All i am really doing is load a HUGH file into one program, have it cut it it into 144 tiles, then run a batch routine in Photoshop to tweak them all a little, then load all the tiles back into the first program, and make a new giant JPEG2000 file. Mostly sit and wait on the programs, and do something in the wait times.

Well, my lawn still needs mowing.

Fortunately for me, my computer is fairly fast. I am getting closer to done.

Working today is messing up my sense of what day it is. I asked my wife if she was going to eat with her friend like she often does on work day. My wife had to remind me it is Sunday.

Ha, silly tpyo um typo.

The files are about 80GB tiff files. Since Photoshop just refuses to play with big old good-uns, we have to jump through hoops. The mapping programs don't have any issue with the large files.

Well, I cut & edged the lawn myself. Sorry, Glen, I offered to help you out with your idle time. I wouldn’t just do that for anyone. Opportunity lost.

My front suspension is all back together after replacing bushings, ball joints and tie rods. I even did a home alignment. Hopefully, it’s good enough until I can get a proper alignment. I have to fill and bleed (again) my clutch & brake hydraulics after replacing my clutch slave cylinder and front & rear brakes. After that...assemble and reinstall the dash.

I remember walking out to my garage and looking at my 911 with no front suspension at all. It was all either at the powder coat place, or new in Pelican boxes and Elephant racing boxes. The front of a 911 is easy, the rear is a pain in the butt.

Though my Z’s engine is in the wrong place, the rear suspension is more of a PIA than the front, too.

Be glad it is not some front wheel drive mess.

The Elky is a long way from being a sports car. The rear suspension is easy. It is a easy thing to change the shocks or rear springs. The springs are trailing arms are petty tough.

The front end of the Elky is a tough. The front springs are MASSIVE and scary looking.

I paid someone to do the A-Arm bushings on it.

Having fun on the computer.

We flew the State Fair of Oklahoma this weekend. It is "just" 222 images that the program mosaics into one big image. If things stay still it does a great job. For some reason all the people move around, and the cars they drive around move, and worst of all is the rides.

Somehow I don't think may people would want to go a sit, or a stay. They want some movement in the ride. and they like to move in all directions. With a 40 or 50 images that can see a single point, the program builds a 3D map of the surface of the ground and what is on it. Since the rides move around, the image becomes a blob shape with the images draped over it. I have to manually edit those parts to use the just the right images and make it look like reality.

And there are 11 million rise out there I think. It seems endless.

Maybe next year we can tell everyone to hold still for the 30 minutes we need to fly it all. Yea, that will work!

Just point our temporal disturbance gun at the fair, set for 30 minutes and no one is the wiser!

Where can we order one?

We also want a really really big flash for our airplane. That way we could fly at night. Just crank up the lightning bolt generator and sync it to the camera shutter. No one will be able to see our tail number at night so they can't report us.

In HS school, we always got out of class for at least 30 minutes when there was a bomb scare...
If the bomb was in a car in the parking lot we would have been goners.

Wonder if there is any kind of evacuation plan for an event like the fair?

Maybe you can get a decommissions C-130 and carried a bunch of generators and lights rigged to flash when you took a ohoto?

Stijn!!

All big events have evacuation plans. Part of why they get the photos. They can draw on a them with dry erase markers. Plan the worst case events. Snipers, bombs, even a tornado. They can see where people concentrate and how to get them out. It is almost a square mile overall. Big area to evacuate.

Good morning all. Lots of rain here. Got home last night after picking up the dog. We were stuck in the car cause I didn't want to get out while it was pouring.
