Hi Brent! I drove it more today than I have since I bought the car. [unplanned pun alert] I’m lined up to get an alignment [/unplanned pun alert] for the Z early next week. This guy and his helper had 3 Zs that they’re working on when I stopped by this afternoon. When I’m there next week, I’ll ask him about rear suspension rebuild and new struts/shocks and springs. Right now, I’m wallowing down the road like a deuce and a quarter, and I need oxygen pumped into the cabin or I’ll black out.

Happy Saturday!

And I am not really retired, just no boss looking over my shoulder. I can get one computer churning on a project, and then go surf the web. I usually surf over to Pelican.

My overall post count is nuts. Between this thread, the random pictures threads, and the joke thread I am the number one poster in all all of them. If you add up my posts in those three threads, and subtract from the total, the post count is somewhat reasonable.

Ya... now I’ve got like a real job with responsibilities and stuff. Way less time to post lol!

Just wrapping up a crazy week at work, have another week to get some projects wrapped up and then off to Barcelona for a week!

Stijn!!

Hey, you get paid to travel to other countries. I get paid to go to Tulsa, and not land, then come home.

But my commute is 14 steps down the hall. And I can go play in the garage at anytime.

I'm glad most of its install and operation is intuitive as the chinglish instructions are a challenge

Does the GPS show any roads in the Outback or near where you go camping?

My first GPS did not know one interstate I was on existed. I was cruising on a brand new smooth highway at 70 MPH and the GPS was telling me to take next left, or take next right for 75 miles. I turned the volume down and just followed the signs up to Memphis. I turned the volume up just to have help navigating that horrid mess.

GPS usually places my house two blocks away. A little difficult to set up GPS to home. Uses coordinates instead of my address sitting in my drive.
Google finds it just fine. Think I'm okay except for atom bombs as long as they don't use google maps.

Nah, I need to install a topographic map app for the off road stuff. The pic above is the nav software the unit came with, but it also has google maps installed. It'll be a toss up which app I'll use the most.

The best thing about it is that I've removed three different devices that were sitting on the dash.

Great question for Jeff, Sid. Looking at the tire pressure monitor display...tire pressure is shown in p.s.i., tire temperature is shown in degrees C, and somehow the display thinks that mix of measurement standards is “Normal.”

Way back in the 1960s when we lived in Hawaii my dad would go a flying mission to bring a load of cargo to Japan, and something back. I always scraped together all my lawn mowing money and gave it to him to buy me some model airplane engines. The Local stores sold them for something like 50 bucks, the on base hobby shop sold them for 40 with no sales tax, and in Japan where they were made they were like 12 bucks. Since he came home as the pilot in command in a US Air Force airplane there was no real customs, just land on base, and go home. I could port out the intake some and run hotter nitro-methane ratios and get more RPM with a bigger pitch prop and go faster than the other guys in a combat round. The bad news for the engine, they tended to run at higher RPM than design and the crank shaft would come apart and destroy the entire bottom end of the engine, and destroy the engine. But hey it was cheap!

The only point in all of that was the instructions were in Japanese, and some really funny translations to Engrish.
