The sasquach was some kind of a big stuff thing he planned to put out for halloween decorations. He did report if anyone had stolen a unicorn statue or costume, just the sasquach.

It was on a neighborhood board that people mostly post about lost or found dogs.

Just thought it was funny someone posting to be on the lookout for sasquach.

It has to be a FAT32 formatted drive with the files on it. If I have it inserted, the motherboard does now see if if I boot with it I think.

Yea, computers are fun.

I am also working on a surveyor customers project. We showed him about where to put targets. Numbered 1-12. So he surveyed the targets, and target 14 is 6, target 11 is 7. WTF, and to top it all off, he sent the file as a jpg image. So I “get” to hand enter the X,Y, and Z positions and figure out to name the targets properly.

And the geolocations are like:
473077.6440,212261.7970,1285.1031. If I fat finger one digit off, it is all off. Oh, he reversed the x and the y so I have to type in the columns it a different order. Dang surveyors!

Yep I hate dealing with survey drawings as well. Usually have to scale everything up by 12 or down by 12.

Our map is essentially 1 to 1. So foot on the ground is that big in the drawing. We are doing 1 foot contours to give to the surveyor. We can do that a zillion times faster than he can, that is why they pay us to do it. He surveys it so he knows the layout and elevations. He can go in the field and pick a spot in our survey, and double check it with his Trimble GPS that is accurate to sub millimeter. He has to call it a survey, and put a stamp on it. We are just providing data.

When I am setting up my computer with the ground control points I can zoom in to a point down to individual pixels if I need to.

We will generate a point cloud with a eleventy eleven zillion points, and each point is color coded so if you zoom out it looks like a photo. It is just getting to generating the point cloud now. Less than 25% done and it is at 140 billion points and going up.

Yea, well I am about the last of the original regulars. I have been posting in this thread for over 10 years!

Go look at a the first few pages. Sid is just a puppy back then. He still is, but he has grow up a lot.

And I am not really retired, just no boss looking over my shoulder. I can get one computer churning on a project, and then go surf the web. I usually surf over to Pelican.

My overall post count is nuts. Between this thread, the random pictures threads, and the joke thread I am the number one poster in all all of them. If you add up my posts in those three threads, and subtract from the total, the post count is somewhat reasonable.

Yea, I tried it once, and hated it. I am just "special" not weird or unusual.

I just got a telemarketer call on my cell phone. As it is my business line, I can't be rude out of the box, it might be a legit customer.

This was another roof inspector. Kinda late to the party, we had hail in the spring but none recently. I did not want to get into a conversation about it with them. So I just lied to a telemarketer, and I told them we just got a new roof last week. She hung up on me.

Pretty much. I can't image ever using a phone solicitor as a source for any service.

One of my absolute rules, I will never under any circumstance do business with a unsolicited sales call. Same thing for door to door solicitors. Ain't gonna happen. Not gonna do it.

Hey we agree on that one. Random calls for donations are met with put something in the mail I can read and I'll get back to you. They never do.

Years ago there was a door to door meat salesman. They claimed to have great prices and top prime meat. I was never going to spend money on beef from an unknown source.

One of my friends did. They said the steaks were so tough they ended up grinding it up for the dogs. Expensive dog food. One guy opened the package of meat after it thawed and it smelled rancid and he did not have any dogs to give it to.
