Carpe, upgraded my AppleTV and Kodi quit working. It is supposed to update itself. Had to reinstal and redo all my custom settings.
Also found a bug with it syncing my account with my AppleTV, Computer, and iPhone. It is all working but in the AppleTV settings it says it steill needs to update the account information, annoying.

We had a little light rain yesterday and it was sputtering this morning. I wish we’d get some real rain.
This afternoon I’ll be in the garage. |

Jim, that is um well, damn ugly. But hey it ain't my car, so I hope they like it.
I am busy going nuts. Still tweaking on one of the two monster jobs. It started over here, and it has files that are so big it is silly. It is a lot faster to open the files on one drive and write them to a different drive during the processing. So I have files sprinkled everywhere over the 5 drives I have on my system. Then we moved it to my business partner's office. He worked for a while on one computer and then another computer. So the files are sprinkled over three computers and 11 hard drives. Tons of trash and duplicate files, but we are not brave enough to delete something that we might need. I spent a couple hours copying the "finals" onto one portable drive, and then back to my machine. Just a few final tweaks, and I can start deleting old versions and partial files. It has to be close to 8 or 9 TB total. Arghhh.

I did the brakes on mt daughter's lexus today, no drama. I like that. Onliest problem was that I had to use the factory jack because I couldn't find a decent place to use my floor jack. The entire underneath is plastic aero stuff and I didn't feel like trying to strip it off. And of course, being a hybrid, they supplied the lightest and weakest POS jack they could get away with. My technique has evolved over the years too. I put the car in the middle of the garage with plenty of room and lighting instead of in a driveway at night, I used my mechanic's seat on wheels, an electric impact gun, lots of time-effort savers. Not smarter, just older and need to do it the easy way

Sammy, as a fellwo geezer, I do most of my projects with my scissor lift, the garage door down, and the AC or the heater running. If the weather is nice I will just open the door. I love putting the car up at eye level even to do electrical work, and not have to kill my back leaning over.
With the music playing, and the bathroom just a few steps away, and the refrigerator stocked with water and beer, the bathroom is necessary.

Phew, The mean ol boss made me go wash his wife's Macan. It was filthy after being driven on rainy day through an area with mud on the pavement.
Then I was forced to mow the bosse's yard! And later today I have to go to work and go fly a project. Mother nature is doing her best to mess with me. It was cloudy and a nice breeze as I started to mow, crappy flying weather since I need to fly. So I mowed the yard, the breeze quit, and the sun came out in full. Now that I am done mowing the clouds will come back and make it hard to fly my project. The client wants it today, and if we can't get it, forget it. So we may risk the cost a two hour flight and get nothing at all. Golly free enterprise is fun.

Stijn!!
We need an oil change on our airplane. It is pretty easy to do, and we have “a guy” that can do it easily enough. It takes 12 quarts to do a change. So I ordered two cases of oil so we will have plenty left for adding oil after a flight.
I can’t get a aviation oil at the local FLAPS. The supplier in town we used before moved their operation 50 miles out of town, and they deliver. The truck is huge, and a chick called me to say she was here with the oil. She sounded like a nice cute petite chick. Let’s say she ain’t. She looked like a biker dude, covered in tattoos and she was 6’2” at least, and built like a defensive end. She delivered the oil on time, so she was perfect for the job. She looked like she could pick up the 55 gallon drums she had on the truck. Her voice was just not what I expected for the rest of her.

I put 2 miles on the Z this afternoon. Those are the first miles on the car since the Spring of last year. I thought I solved my fuel starvation issue yesterday, but I was wrong. The hose from the fuel tank to the fuel pump appears to be the problem...it has to bend to go from the tank to the pump, and it was pinching a bit. I replaced the loop of hose with a 90 degree elbow and two short pieces of hose. No more b itching from my fuel pump.
More shakedown testing tomorrow.

He was an interesting guy. I have know of him, and he has heard my name for over 30 years, yet we had never met. One of my good friends is his cousin. He knew my old boss Tom real well, and I worked for him for over 25 years. Lots of people we know are mutual friends.
He owns a flying instruction school and has several instructors working for him. His primary job is as a corporate pilot in his King Air. He had a 4:00 AM flight scheduled for today. Taking clients to Miami, than El Paso. He has the same issue on worse with his credit card company. He will stop and get a few grand worth of Jet fuel. Fly to another part of the country, and get a more Jet-A and then go to another state and do it again, all in one day. He said they went to Mexico City, and fueled up, and the credit card was declined. The Mexicans said you are not moving an inch until we are paid. He was not real polite to his credit card company on that call. He told them if they see a charge at Wal-Mart, or for electronics, it is fraud. No one scams buying jet fuel at airports.

Seems like there would be credit card companies that cater to that kind of expensess.
The card company probably has a change over in personell enough that they just see big charges and shut it down, if it is not shut down electronicly, Used to buy fonts a lot. Most of the font companies are in Germany. Had a heck of a time to get my credit card to approvel the purchases. They kept sy anything from Germany is a scam.

Phew, the bosses made me "help her" out in the garden. The composter we have is a neat idea, just a bit under-designed. It is an old 55 gallon plastic barrel with a rod through the middle that it will rotate on. The rod is bolted to a frame that is all made from plastic 2x4s.
The problem is the plastic 2x4s are just not up to the pressure exerted on the bolts that hold the frame together. The bolts have worn the holes into a oblong shape because the plastic cracked and allowed movement in the fittings. I had to disassemble the frame, and I will have to go get some 3.5 inch wide 1/6 inch thick aluminum sheets and drill tow 1/2 inch holes in one end. Those will act as the strain relief for the plastic. I would use steel sheets but I don't have a plasma cutter and I just don't want to fabricate 6 of the braces from steel. Aluminum will be plenty strong. The plastic lasted several years.
