I grew my mustache when Spiro Agnew was still in office. He resigned in 1973. I remember him only because I was set to photograph some speech he made in Montgomery, AL and I had to run home, change into the sport suit and tie, and shave. I gut my lip real bad and as the secret service inspected my equipment I still had a wad of gauze pressed to my lip to stop the bleeding. That was the last time I shaved my lip. I grew a beard in 1976 or so. I have not been clean shaven since.

The Surface is a Microsoft product. Does Dell sell a version as well?

What type of sim do you need? I don't understand your question.

I had a mustache for a while when I was in my 20s. Nothing on my face since then. My apologies to everyone that has to look at me!

Looking to find a comparable Dell product. I will not need to be a work-horse type laptop.

Have run Windows® on a Mac, but have not tried on an iPad. Figured the screen was not big enough on my iPad mini.

I don't know if Dell does, but Lenovo makes similar products. There is also stuff ike the Yoga that might be useful as well.

Ah OK, I similar laptop to a surface only cheaper.

I like my surface, it boots up fast and does quite well. It does get hot on a flight mission and it is having to work hard. For a replacement, I don't have a clue.

I assume you get a discount for Dell though?

We had a Lenovo Yoga that was a great machine for about 14 months. Then one day the motherboard just stopped cold. I pulled out the hard drive and the data was there so that was good. Nothing would bring back the motherboard. I poked around on-line and there were many stories about dead motherboards. Lenovo said we could ship it in and have it "fixed" of they would replace the MB, but it was almost as much as a new laptop. We went with the Surface. We have two of them and they work great and have for many years.

We used Dell laptops for years. Never an issue with them, except they got old.

For work we use almost all HP ProBooks. We have had a couple Dell and never had good luck with them. We also have a few Lenovo units that have al l held up very well.

We have at least a couple Dell towers at the house and they worked fine as long as you don't want to upgrade anything.

The Surface Pro is probably as cheap as any of the big brands for that type of device.

Dell is just what I am used to. The wife had a surface for about 3 years till it quit powering up. She then went to an iPad set up cause she is only controlling her computer at work. Something about remote desktop.

I like Dell, and I have used many of them. My one big complaint is they are not quite industry standard for components. Their stuff is need drivers available only from Dell.

That is why I prefer to build my own computer from scratch and use 100% industry standard parts.

I have a VPN and remote desktop setup on my phone in case I get a call while traveling without the laptop. It is not easy but works in a pinch.

If they can't sort the issues with the iPad, price out the different ones in that from factor, but I would bet the Surface Pro is the best deal.

Looks like Jim has had better luck with Dell than I have had at work. The ones at the house are spares for gusts during a LAN party.

My wife loves her iPad. I have one of her old ones in the Garage to listen to Pandora. That is all I do with it. I do like my Surface Pro. It is the i7 CPU but all the memory they had was 8 gig. Now they sell one with 16 gig of RAM.

It is fast and does the job.

One of the projects we flew last week was just delivered to the client via FTP. It is an orthophoto of a small river in the middle of nowhere, and it is centered on the spot where some creek joins in. Not one structure at all, just the river and the surrounding farm land and wilderness and some fences.

It is really a boring photo to look at, but we made money on it, so it is actually really pretty!

The 3 phase upgrade is all done. We have 3 phases all the way to the old breaker panel and loads have been balanced. The PV and inverter install begins tomorrow.

and the Tojo got a new steering rack today.

Too bad we cant go anywhere yet.

Facebook has lots of Ads for no monies down solar installation. My house faces west. Don't have much roof facing south.

Just looked up my Mom's cousins house...The Bavinger House.
It was demolished!

Bavinger House

It was built into a creek bank with big windows facing east.
It was shaped like a nautilus shell with no interior walls and used a central fire pit for heating, and circulated water from the creek for cooling.
Rock walls and pond inside the house.
The bedrooms hung from the ceiling like bird cages.
It was very comfortable.

It was designed by Bill Goff but Mom's cousin built it. He was an artist and art professor at Oklahoma University.

Difficult to believe it got demolished. Shame, always thought it was a pretty cool house.
Guess it got demolished because there was no real way to integrate an attached garage or movie room. And the architect and/or Mom's cousin weren't famous enough to make it a landmark. They did have tours for a while and there are online video tours. About everyone I've known that were architects knew about the house.
