I texted my business partner this morning at 9:02 to ask is he was back to the land of jeans and sweatshirts. He left home on Dec 1st and went to South Africa, and Florida so it has been warm to HOT for him for weeks. He said he was indeed back and happy to be sleeping in his own bed, and OMG it is 9:02! He got up to pee shortly after 7:00 and fell asleep until late.

Good Day!
Sept from 11pm to 2AM. Did not fall asleep again until 7AM, woke up at 11:30AM. We are off tomorrow and the next day, then go back to work Thurs and Fri. Dominos sent an email that any pizza is free, just pay the $4 delivery. Had a free sammuch yesterday for the cost of delivery from Jimmy John's, $4 as well. Satuday a neighbor brought me some banana bread. Four banana bread cup cakes. There goes the keto diet. As if expect to maintain over the holidays.

Think the windows are too dark on the new Cayenne. Cant see backing up at night, not even with backup lights.

My El Camino has two fairly small backup lights, down low. The lenses are the one that came on the car 33 years ago, and hey have yellowed and the reflectors inside the light are old as well. The brake lights are much better, but still low to the ground, and no third brake light in that era.
I added a LED strip just under the tailgate that looks right, and it shows the turn signals, brakes, running light and backup lights. It makes a BIG difference in the backup lights. I have brighter bulbs in the Elky as well. My 911 has the same basic issues. There is a guy in the 911 tech section selling 3D printed LED bulb arrays that are really easy to replace the stock bulbs. Since I want my cruise control to continue to work, he sells a ballast to get the resistance right. It made a huge difference in the brightness of the brake lights. I have a small LED bar that someday I am going to engineer a good looking and not hacked in place 3rd brake light. The tough part is getting the wires up to it. I have a few garage projects I may play with on my cars on the 26th if I can get time off from work and play in the garage.

My wife and I both like the french doors since they take up less space when open. Plus, it is a smaller opening when grabbing something like milk out of the door.

The Cobra has no backup lights. Then again, the back window is not dark in that car.

One of the local very fast driver has a Superformance Cobra. It is a better car than any original, and not a gazillion dollars. He had autocrossed it before. Totally cool car. He also bought a Superformance Cobra Coupe, unpainted. Amazing craftsmanship on that thing. He brought it to the autocross and almost passed out from the heat inside of it. He was drenched in sweat. Cool car, but totally impractical so driving in the summer. One guy brought out his Aston Martin Zagato. That V12 sounded like a F1 car. Everyone else just stopped and watched his every lap just to soak in the sound and beauty. One of the members tracked down the auction price he paid for the car, and is was 1.4 million. It was a custom order green, and just stunning. Dang I miss that old track.

My business partner is going to fly a test project for a client from Canada. We are using a borrowed camera system like the one one used by the Canadian company. The camera is made by the same company that makes the one the Canadian uses. It is the new and improved version, and has 7 physical different camera systems in it. From ultraviolet, RGB (normal color) near infrared, far infrared, thermal only and other sensors. It sees pretty much everything. The farmers love the final results and it can be used to map other types of things and measure their condition. Pretty high tech stuff. We don't have to figure out how to process the final imagery. We just have to upload the raw data to the client. If this works out like we hope, it could morph into a regular flying gig for us.

Sounds a lot easier than your current gig!
The Cobra has one thing for drivers and passenger that isn't built for speed. Two aluminum cup holders in the tunnel. I figured taking the wiper arms and blades off came out a wash weight wise and the new weight is lower!

Gee, thanks alot Brent, had about talked myself into a fridge just like the 40 yo fridge that is dying. The big plus of the french door is it is counter depth, the others are not.
Didn't have any night time rear view issues on any of the other 3 Cayennes. The windows weren't limo tinted like on this one either.

Had to replace the drivers side front wheel bearing in the Durango. Didn't take long, probably 1.5 hours with a conversation with dad mixed in there when he stopped by. Boy did the old grease stink. i could still taste it from the smell when I was sleeping. Oh well, $70 for a new hub since you can't buy the bearings alone, plus they would have to be pressed in the old hub. 196k miles it is a cheap fix. I don't think I will catch up to Glen since we don't drive it very often any more.

Merry Christmas Eve, y’all! Tomorrow we’re getting together with our son, daughter-in-law, and their pretty new baby boy. It should be a lot of fun, plus helping with a couple of diaper changes.

Stijn!!
Diaper changes?
I figured you take em to a restaurant and use that changing machine in the bathrooms. Put the baby on the table, slam it shut, and wait for a few seconds and the kid is changed by the machine.

When i went to get my first golden puppy she was in the shade on a porch, laying in a glass baking dish full of water, intently watching her Dad play frisbee in the yard. Had to dry her off to bring her home. She turned out to be a very smart dog.
Shopping on-line for a harness to seat belt Pepper into the back seat of the Cayenne. Seems to be only one dependable brand, All Safe from 4x4 North America. The rest break and let the dog fly desespite saying they have been crash tested in their advertising. Do not want her to get as messed up as I am or worst. The dog harness has padding on the harness that protects the dog. Just belts bruised me up and gave me internal injures despite the air bags. Have a shoulder pad that velcros around the belt I made for the gift bag at one of our PCA car shows. Without it probably would have been messed up by more than just the lap belt part of the seat belt.
