My wife married me to mow the yard, lift heavy things, and dig holes where she points and grunts. And to open pickle jars. Also I guess to fix the toilet, and stuff around the house. She said if she can't find me attractive and least she can find me handy.

Useful to have around.

She always "lets" me pay for meals when we eat out. She might pay on for my birthday for the meal.

Same here. I say who's buying she says what difference does it make.

We got married later in life. We both had careers, and houses and cars and assets. We both have separate checking and saving and retirement accounts. They are all joint accounts, so in theory they are combined. But my money is my money and hers is hers. She never blinks when I spend money on my garage or car upgrades. She never has asked how much the 911 engine rebuild cost, or how much I spend on tools or hobbies. I like telling how the EL Camino engine was just $1,700 for a brand new engine so she knows about that.

I "get" to pay for the insurance for the house and the three cars. I pay for all the utilities. She pays the property taxes since we have no mortgage. I did "donate" a large chunk of the cost of the Macan but she paid for most of it since she ordered her car.

It works out great for us.

Since I bought the El Camino back in 1991 before we got married and it was paid for before the marriage, the title is in my name only. The Porsches are joint titles.

We never argue about money.

Glen, you may want to fix the issue with the EC. When she out lives you it becomes a major hassle with it only in your name.

My will has her as the beneficiary of all my assets. With a death certificate, it is easy to sell it.

I plan to outlive her anyway.

One more use my wife has for me. Putting on the stickers on the license tags. It is a very complex and challenging activity. I am pretty sure in the 28 years we have been married she has not put on one tag sticker.

Fun day for me. We “got” to drive to Enid to get my MIL a new phone. The old one has real battery issues. Her phone is an add on for my account so I have to be there. Got that done, and fixed some computer issues on her system.

I drove the 911 and it is such a great highway car. It was parked in her driveway. A neighbor came and knocked on the door and asked about it. So I showed home the interior and the engine and started it. He has a 928 and a 73 911S

He mentioned another neighbor with a 72 911 and we wondered down there to look at it. Then down to the 928. His 911 is in storage and has not been started in 18 years.

They were amazed how clean and pristine my car is.

My wife said I had new play friends. Both are going to send me Facebook friend requests.

Melting. It was 113 here yesterday, and it is forecast for something similar today.

Wow! That’s hot (even for here). I see that Dave is combating the heat by freezing his shorts.

We have only had one day all summer of triple digits. Today is low 90s again. Next Wednesday and Thursdays we are forecast to have lows in the 40s, and highs in the 60s.

I refuse to be forced from my shorts, so I may have to wear a thick shirt and a hat.

I’ve been coerced out of retirement. The local utility company is throwing money at me to fix their SCADA systems.
