Morning all. TGIF. I got one of those funny calls the other day. Left me a message telling me that my cell phone account had been suspended. Ha!

If it was a work-provided cell phone account that was suspended, that would be awesome news.

While I’m sitting here drinking coffee and surfing the net, my mini schnauzer is sawing logs. Man, can she ever snore!

Another scammer called. Dang if now someone is planning to bill me $90 for something if I don't call them to cancel. I think they will be disappointed when they try to collect.

The local PCA region is having a Valentines day party. It is $35 per mouth, so 70 bucks per couple. Not cheap, but it is at a local winery, and in their cave or underground area. The minimum charge they do it for required 41 people or we were going to lose money. Right now we are at 59 so that is not a problem. For so many years some on the board insisted the club subsidize the cost of the Christmas party to encourage people to come. I always stated they we are the Porsche club, not the Hyundai club. None of us want to just blow money, but 70 bucks for a night out with friends is not unreasonable at all.

There are several restaurants in town that is almost impossible to get out of for under 150 bucks. We avoid that cost by not going there. I have never had a meal so dang good it was worth 75 buck per plate. Of course, PCA Parade has dinners that cost that much, and I go. An they are good meals, but giant conventions are always overpriced.

Maybe next year we can do the Valentines dinner at a brewery. I have never once had a sip of wine and thought, that is good. Wine is a taste I can't enjoy. I would rather have a Bud Light than a glass of the worlds best wine.

Why does everyone keep calling to help us with our 365 migration. Might as well get a drug free colonoscopy with 4" PVC while I am at it.

Remember when I was local pca pres. as part of a Christmas dinner we got a bunch of items and autioned them to make money for a charity. Only one of two people were willing to pay even retail for the items despite the money going to charity.

Yea, the problem with those auctions is it needs to be something I want in the first place. I don't care how great the item is oh how much of a bargain it is, if don't want it at all, I will not bid. Charity or not.

We did the "dirty Santa" for years and that can be fun, but takes forever. And if a few too many bring garbage, it quickly becomes just stupid.

The club decided to stop the present exchange, and just buy a toy for the Children's Center. Then we have to have some lucky member gather them up, and haul them to the Children's center and present them. I was always one of the few lucky ones to "get" to help do that as so many go deaf when asked to help.

Now I go to the Children's center web page, and find items they need and are asking for. I order them on Amazon, and have them delivered to the center. I just pay the bill and I am done.

We are schedules for more San Diego weather. 60s and clear skies. I will have to find something to do in the garage. I hear there is some big football game on. I can't wait for F1 racing to start up. Even if I know Mercedes is likely to win again.

Would like to rake up the spiney balls from the sweet gum tree in the front yard, but just don't think I will be able. Did well yesterday to go up a flight of 5 stairs using the rail.

It is supposed to hit 70 on Sunday here. I will be taking the 911 out for a drive, just to warm up the oil to full temp. I will hit the one curve and explore the area east of my house. Maybe go see the castle or the house that looks like a resort. One house sits on a 1/4 of a square mile piece of property. 160 acres of yard, and the house is close to 20,000 square feet.

Careful. Sunday is Ground Hog's Day!

If we are getting 6 more weeks of winter and it's anything like it's been...Well...that don't matter too much.

Isn't the Spring Equinox 6 weeks from Feb 2nd?

We had the 11th wettest Jan ever. Way above normal. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the mid 70s. I will suffer through it.

Burp. We went to breakfast at a new place just up the road. Good food and good service.

Now I need to take the Elky out to get a tank of gas, then I will take the 911 out to drive the local area and find the curve. I wish we had curvy roads, just on ramps around here. Lots of roads around here have clear evidence of guys doing burnouts. Two large black stripes in the middle of a straight flat road are pretty common. I will not be adding to the black marks. The El Camino can make the tires chirp if I floor it from a stop. I have never wanted to abuse the transmission by powerjacking it even after 27 years. The 911 just goes. If it is real smooth concrete the tires will chirp a little, but it just has too much traction. It is no drag racer for sure.

With the minor mods to the GTS. and after getting that tuned well, have to be careful to keep from chirping the tires just doin what feels normal. Especially if pulling out from a side street onto a 4 lane street with speed limit over 40. If I floor it, it will spin tires thru 3 gears. And despite spinning both rear tires due to locking rear diff. it is easy to keep in a straight line because the locking diff is controlled by the amount of steering input and an accelerometer recording the cars actual direction of travel.

The mods are; 928GT Cams, Tuned headers, tuned x-pipe, sport cats, no rear muffler. The sport cats and the stock mid or resonance muffler keep the noise legal. Haven't dynoed it but from other 928GTS with the same mods it should have gone from 310 to 400 rwhp. Stock it is a 5.4 liter V8 with 2 stage intake (tuned for a flat torque curve) and ram air cold air intake.

Does $150 sound like too much to have the tint stripped off all but the windshield and clean the gook off the windows? They said it's about 4 hours.

That Limo tint is just too dark. 1.) Aint doin nuthin I wanna hide. 2.) If a crook comes up and cant see in your car, they assume you got sumpthin to steel and breaak a window! 3.) These old eyes cant see out after dark.

Well, spend several hours stripping it, and see how far you get. Then determine how much is it worth to get it off.

I would not do it for just $150. Actually you can't afford my labor. No one but the ultra rich can, and they don't need my services. I charge $10,000 to consult on a project and then I get started at a high hourly rate. Just like wedding photography, or lawn sprinkler installation, I am available but there are a few thousand companies cheaper than my services.

I can hardly afford my services to put the new license tag sticker on my El Camino. My cars are worth a few million each just in the labor costs I have involved. That is why I never sell my cars .
