Ha ha. I think it's funny I wrote that, and you knew exactly what I meant.

Off to the autocross. We have been super dry, and everyone wants rain. I just want it to hold off until noon or so.

My rear tires have almost no tread, and the new tires I have in the garage are ready to be mounted as replacements. I wanted one more autocross out of the old tires.

The rear tires are even less legal now. Fun autocross.

Our regular autocross chairman had a baby a couple of weeks ago. Or more accurately, his wife did. For some silly reason he decided to stay home with his wife and we had a substitute autocross chair.

He owns two 911 Turbos and a brand new Mustang Shelby GT. We recruited some help from the SCCA guys that show up at our event and had a great event. One of the guys that was there yesterday is likely to be the new Autocross champion for the US. There was some autocross in another sate, and only if one guy manged to win that event on points he would win. Lets just say the champ is a great driver. He took the Mustang for two laps. The only time he has driven the car, and beat the owners time by 1/2 a second.

It will be a weird week for me. Tomorrow we are off to a Condo near Branson, MO. I "get" to spend a week with two of my wife's old high school friends and their husbands. The husbands are OK, and one of the wife's is tolerable, the other is nucking futz, and very annoying. She simply can't do anything on time. Nothing at all. She has to speak up and add her comments even if it is about something she has no knowledge of at all. Her husband is a car guy and we were discussing rear end ratios and I mentioned I had a 3:88 in the El Camino and a lot of friends urged me to go for a 3:43 or higher. She popped up and said a 4 or higher is best. Yea, if I was a drag racer but it would sure suck on the highway. I just looked at her husband, and look confused. We just carried on as if she had said nothing.

Both of the other ladies talk constantly. They can't stand silence and have to talk. My wife can go for an hour and say nothing on road trips sitting right next to me.

The air here today is getting worse. To many fires in areas where they just have to let them burn.

Enjoying the camping out. It is not too rough with decent WiFi and a king sized bed.

We drove down to the Low Gap Cafe today for lunch. Fantastic menu with astonishing variety of choices, and great food in the middle of nowhere, Arkansas.
We went down in one of the guy's Mercedes 380 station wagon. Six full size adults fit with no problems.

He wanted me to drive the curvy roads. Not as much fun as in the 911, with a 5,500 pound car and 5 passengers. We made it there and back with no problems.

Our condo is in the middle there.

The view from the balcony. We can see the lake through the tree tops.

This is pretty much my limit of camping out. Really roughing it here!

The only thing rough there might be the beer selection.

Not too bad. Angry Bstrd, Blue Moon, and Fat Tire. Burp.

Great selection at the convenience station a few miles away.

Fun times at home. Cleaning service had their van broken into. Stole all keys and book with addresses. Spent last night replacing the locks.

So the locksmith broke into the van to drum up business?

HAHA! Nope she lost everything in the van. The checks from clients for the day, the equipment, all her clients house keys and the book with all the addresses in it.

I changed the front dead bolt out and then was able to re-key the house/garage door to the new lock.

We have keypads which are easy enough to change. I think we can have 10 combos but we have one for the kids and one for us and one for mom and dad.

I thought about that but decided it would take more time to paint the front door.
