Get off my lawn!
|
The valve adjustment is done.
All that is left is to put the air filter in place, the AC compressor back on, and the heater duct on the left. All pretty easy stuff. I had to stop for a lunch break, and to rest my back a little. Only #2 and #3 cylinders were just a tad loose, and only because I am anal about prefect 4 thousands on all the valves did I mess with it. Not bad for 30,000 miles of driving, and three HPDE and multiple autocross.

The (long string of exploitatives deleted) air filter is back in place, and new filter is installed. Dang what a pain in the arm that is. Getting the two back clips on really requires an anorexic man with 6 inch fingers. I have been called a lot of things, but anorexic is not one of them. I beat anorexia long ago. I have lots of bruises and scratches on my arm from fighting those back clips.
The oil filter is back in place, and the tank is refilled with 10 quarts of oil. The mess is all cleaned up and the trash is in the bin. The heater duct work is back in place. Oh yea, I went ahead and cleaned all four wheels "while I was in there". It really helps to take the rears off for the valve adjustment to have access to the rocker arms. I went for a "test drive" but the weather is just ideal for working in the garage. It is only 69 degrees so I could not get the oil temp above 185. The oil level is right on the center mark. The cars are back in their proper spots. I did have to crack open one of the bosses Erdinger Dunkle beers and enjoy that as my payment for three days of work. I am super happy I am not a professional mechanic. I would starve to death with my slow speed. I always find some "while you are in here projects" cleaning the wheels, cleaning the rocker panels inside and out. And cleaning up some spilled oil from my last oil change when changing the oil filter.

Morning all. I think we got all of your rain. There might be some left by the time it gets to you. We are supposed to be setting up for whole lot more this weekend aka the atmospheric river as that call it.

We are maybe gonna get .25 inches if we are lucky. You guys keep stealing all the rain! And Colorado steals it in the form of heavy snow. They can keep the dang snow!
We need a hurricane to hit Texas and come up this way. It sucks for Texas, but hurricanes are usually welcome in Oklahoma.

Amazon proved my theory about the less you really need an item, fast it will get there immediately, and if you are desperate for an order it will take weeks to get to you.
On Wednesday as I was cleaning up, and putting away the tools I noticed my supply of rubber gloves was low, and the cleaner wax I like for cleaning the painted surfaces of rubber marks or tar or bird poo was almost gone. And when I went to Palm Springs, I was warned no car washes. So I bought some spray "dry car wash" spray. And I used up my air filter for the 911, and even it will be years before I need a new one, I wanted to get one in stock. Not one of the items was needed right away, and it took a month, no big deal. So Thursday at 9:30 I ordered all of those items. The gloves and wax were delivered by 4:30 the same day! The car wash spray showed up at 9:30 PM. Only the air filter did not show up on the same day, and it is scheduled to be delivered today.

I think they know how to mess with your head. IF you had spoke out loud about these items you would have adds for them on your phone by now.

Morning all. We had a windy and wet weekend for sure. Wife saw wires down along the road while walking the dog yesterday.

That's to bad. Yesterday afternoon it was more like a low flow shower outside here. The wind had it going sideways part of the time.

We need rain. We have a 10% chance this afternoon. I will not hold my breath.

Morning all. Well that was fun. Two thunderstorms yesterday afternoon. Not normal for us this time of year.

Our 10% chance ended up at a zero percent reality of rain.
No sign of rain in the forecast.

As there might be snow at higher elevations there will not be any 911's involved.

This morning my wiife and I loaded up in the 911 for a road trip in preparation for Parade. Just drive west in I-40 until we get past all the city areas that have stop lights everywhere. The off the the Fort El Reno historical site. The Chisholm trail stopped there to rest up, and water the herd. The fort predates the State of Oklahoma by 50 or 60 years.
Then off west on old Rt-66. Some of it is rather bumpy, but we got to Lucille's historic site. ![]() ![]() Then a few miles ddown Rt-66 in the Lucille's restaurant. They have one room that can hold all of all tour, and it is decorated as old Rt-66. We can have it as a private area. ![]() Then on about a mile to the Stafford Air and Space museum. They just got a F-117A they will display indoors. They have a A-10 Warthog outside on static display. It is a wonderful museum, and with groups we can get a discount, and a guided tour. It should be an popular tour.
