Get off my lawn!
|
Lots of changed plans. The mower refused to start. I suspect the module or the carb. A few days ago I discovered the El Camino windshield squirters did not squirt. Grumble grumble, so I bought a new pump. It just sits underneath the wiper motor cover, and shoves up into it once aligned just right. Of course it is impossible to see, and hard to get into position. So I had to squat for an hour trying to get the new pump up into position.
The Boss's wife insisted we clean the Koi pond filters, as the F*****G Siberian front is come to visit. We will have over 100 hours of below freezing temps. It was 61 degrees and Sunny yesterday. The pond filters were cleaned, and all ready for cold weather. 30 minutes later I went to the recycle bin to throw out a plastic bottle and I noticed the pond pump was not pumping. It was about sunset, and I checked the breaker in the garage, and it was in the tripped mode. I could not get it to turn off, to reset it. More cussing and that meant I had to replace a breaker. I was exhausted from squatting over the squirters, and the filter cleaning that requires moving paving stones and lots more squatting. The breaker replacement was a this morning project. I went to Lowe's and looked for a while until a employee actually showed up to help me find Type BR215 breaker compatible with my breaker box. She cheated and used her employee app to punch in BR215 and it told her just where it was. I got that replaced and all is happy now with the pond and the sprinkler system, and most important the wife. Phew.

Burrr. It was 16 degrees when we went to breakfast. It has warmed up to 23 but the windchill is 17!
We may have snow flurries tomorrow. I am supposed to get my 911s fan and housing tomorrow. We will see.

We have the coldest day of the year so far, it was 6 when I got up, and a dusting of white crap just fell out of the sky. The sun is up, and hopefully the white crap will go away soon.
I got the fan and housing from the dry ice blaster. It did not clean up as much as I hoped. Hopefully the ceracoat will make it look pretty, or at least prettier.

Now I have a surprise visit to the doc on Thursday I had not planned for and chemo class and labs on Friday. My head is spinning over all of this. Chemo is supposed to start next Wed, but who knows after the unscheduled appt coming up.

Glad to hear the port is in. Just keep a positive attitude and keep plugging through all of it.
I had a really busy morning. I had to run three errands this morning. I need a nap now.

Morning all. Ouch! I hate ladders to. But so fa I have avoided being bit by one. If its alum melt it down in front of the a new one, if wood chop it up and burn it in a fore pit while the new one looks on. I'll go get the smores makings just in case.

Driving the 911 is always therapeutic. Even after a 12 hour road trip, I fell like driving more, but finding a motel bed is important, that and dinner time.
I got the fan and housing back from dry ice blasting, and it looks better. The housing had a small crack, that may well be part of the casting flaw. I looked around for a person willing to weld magnesium, and my professional welder buddy said for a crack that small, use JP Weld. The ceracoat guy said it makes no difference, the coating will cover it. I glued it up yesterday afternoon, and I will smooth it a bit more with my Dremel, and take it to be coated. The crack and JB weld are on the back side, out of view completely, so it is just overkill to do the work, but I am just that way.

I dropped my fan and housing off at the place that does the Ceracoat. The do powder coating as well. They are going to coat it with a titanium colored coating. He said he would tape off the tips of the blades so they don't rub on the housing, as there it very little gap. I said that is a good idea. The Ceracoat is only a few thousandths thick, but it will be on the housing, so better save than sorry.
David hopefully they have some positive news.

Morning all. The class was on what to possibly expect as that dump 3 different chemo meds in me over the course of about 2.5 days. I go in on Wed sot for approx 6 hours, then go home with a pump that continues to push the crap in till Fri at 4. Then I get to wait and see how it goes. They say days 2-5 could be the worst. Then I get week off and do it all over again till the end of March or until I say I quit cause this sucks.

That is the funny (to me) part. The instructions on the wall for men was to put the cup on the back of the toilet! It was a modern pressure flush toilet, so the only "back of the toilet" would behind the plumbing and with the seat down.
I decided it made more sense to just hold the cup. They have a little cubby hole in the wall for me to put the cup when I was done. They open it from the other side. That would sure be a fun job, test pee all day. At least it was not a fertility clinic expecting me to rub one out for a sample!
