Yeah, well this is first grade, so we kept it simple. Heck, they're just working on addition and subtraction at this point.

We took a bunch of cars and weighed them. Then we ran them down the track. There was no correlation between weight and distance. (Obviously because of all the variables involved--mainly rolling resistance, i.e. cattywompus wheels.) So we took two individual cars--one light car that went far, and a heavy car that didn't go too far--and ran them again: car alone, car with one coin, car with two coins. For each individual car, the heavier the car, the farther it went.

I decided to postpone the lecture about GPE --> kinetic energy for a couple more years.

I am running out of weeks in this quarter. I don't know what her summer plans are. I have to keep at it. It does keep things interesting I suppose since I still can't get what I want.

Kalabasa is a simple dish. I chop and saute a large onion and then add skinless chicken breast chunks and cook them. I then add a couple large cups of water, garlic, chili powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper & salt. Let it simmer for a while and then I add garden fresh yellow squash chunks and zucchini chunks. I continue to simmer it until the squash and zucchini is tender but not overly tender. Often times I will add a cup or two of precooked Spanish rice in the mix to thicken the sauce a tad bit. It is really good and healthy if you like that sort of thing.
