Get off my lawn!

I just got my 24 staples & three stiches removed. I have not walked much since then so I don't know if it feels better or not. As soon as I get home I will know more.

Here is my expensive chunk of titanium. Of course anything made of Ti is not cheap. It will be interesting to see what the installation fee is.
![]() This is the sample piece he has in his office to show what it looks like.

Oh great, my brother wants to watch all the freaking stupid convention speeches. Maybe if I take an extra pain pill or two I can sleep through all the posturing BS crap.

Whoo hooo! Broke through my shell and chatted up a cute jogger chick. Bummer I won't be able to make it to the park for a few days.

![]() Actually, the teflon on Titanium is more like the stainless steel on teflon in the Rebel Racing bushings. The difference is that here it takes a lot more work to install the race and bushing. With the RR product it is just an arbor press for the bushing into the Aluminum housing and some JB weld for the race onto the arm.I hope the doctor did not use JB weld, anyway...

The Doc said he uses a CNC style of router to make a hole in my hip socket bone that the new socket snaps into. He said it is such a tight fit he has a special tool to get it to snap into position. No JB Weld but a single titanium screw to hold the socket into place.

It hurts less than the hip he took out. Once the wound heals and the muscles are back to normal the hip pain will be history.

He said it was a very specialized router. It cuts a hole in just the right spot that is just the right size. The entire hip unit is modular. The big pin down inside the leg is hammered into place, and 5 or 6 different parts are custom assembled to match the angle and size of my leg. Apparently he has a table of parts that he measures what needs to align to make my leg the same length as the other leg. No standard off the shelf one size fits all stuff.

My dad used to work in the hospital as an assistant to the doctors - handing them tools and stuff. He wants to see the video of your operation!
![]() He also said that he wonders how many times those doctors accidentally split the femur when hammering the pin in.
