Howdy Dave, so when can we expect your book, "Fun with Gorilla Glue"?

Haha! No!!! "Cleans up with water" - my ass! Get a little on your hands and it does not cleanly wash right off. I over did it on this trivet.
But, it'll give me a good idea of how it holds up to heat. This trivet is casserole size. Those pyrex/glass dishes hold high heat for a long time on the table.

I used that stuff once before not realizing it foams up. Yeah hammer and chisel works well.

I used it for the shift knobs, because of its ability to stand up to heat. For this trivet, I used it to glue up the top boards for the heat and because it's waterproof. I figure these things get wiped down. Titebond II or III may work just as well.

The best "wood glue" I have found is Elmer's carpenters wood glue. Smells funny but works great, just not too sure about the heat issue

I grew up with the Titebond series. I'm trying to branch out for specific applications. The guitar introduced me to the old world hide glue. HG would not be good in this situation.
Super strong, but the heat from a dish would soften it and things would fall apart.

D, very sad to see that your Lab is not well, I had a few labs in my younger days, (used to breed them) and I had one lovely Lab called Sugar, and she lived for 15 years and 11 months, we had to have her put down in the end because she just kept going, but her bones were no longer capable of holding her up. She had already had the femoral head removed, as it was so arthritic, but in the end it was kinder to let her go. We had a lovely final day, she had a lovely bath, and massage on a lovely sunny day, and a vet friend come to our house, and gave her a mild sedative first, then the rest, it was such a sad day.
I had my lab from the age of 16 to just over 30, so I know exactly how you feel, she had been everywhere with me, even hitch hiking around Oz, lived through the hard times of no job (she had to go semi-vegetarian as I didn't have enough to buy dog food!) she would eat anything I put in front of her, even watermelon skins, lol. I loved her so much, but sadly they just don't live forever. But my advice D, (I was also a vet assistant/nurse back in the day before the Air Force), is to let the old dear live out its life, with only pain relievers as required, no operation, no chemo, 15 is a good age for a Lab. My heart goes out to you and your family, its a tough decision.

Sorry D,
I hadn't noticed that you had only quoted it. But so sad for Joe then.
