Max, we've told you what you need for PCA. A SA2005 helmet or better and a car that can pass a basic safety inspection. POC is a different animal.

My seats are not stock and they aren't racing seats. They are knock-off RSR's with a low back and a stock headrest. Not the safest things. I'm fine with them (though they are heavy) but not sure how POC or PCA would like them. The belts are at least not compressing my spine. I think there are sometimes rules about if you have a cage it needs to meet certain rules, or you need more equipment. I guess I could always unbolt it... Call me cheap but I don't want to spend much to get on track. I am going to cheap-out on the helmet.

I can get TLG to tech my car for POC, so hopefully the PCA rules are similar. I think the main differences concern window nets and hand restraints for race cars, and Boxster hard top ceiling nets. And maybe HANS devices.

PCA - No one will care about the cage. Belts, really don't go out of date. I think my stock 3 pts. are out of date (tag), but they didn't care or check. Harness is new, so not an issue. They really don't check pax side belts. My seat is a bucket PROTOTYPE! No date, no tags. It's not a problem. Fuel line won't be a problem - again, it's a simple check - no major fluids leaking, battery secure, belts tight, wheel bearings okay, quick seat belt check/helmet check (they put a sticker on the side of my helmet with the SA date, so they don't dig in the liner each time).

I was finally able to log on to the POC site. I think my car requires a cage according to their rules. If not then a roll bar. It looks like the cage can be 1.5x.095" tubing and I don't know what mine is. I don't know whether it is alloy or not, either.
I think my battery cutoff is not approved for race cars but it is not necessary for PDS/STS at least. Not sure about Time Trials. When I say belts I mean 5 point harness. I think the belts are too narrow in addition to being out of date (FIA certification) if I wanted to do more than DE's.

Again, for PCA, it does not matter!

Depends of if you are doing the PCA High Speed Touring, or PCA Club Racing doesn't it?

The DE event at the track is NOT the autocross. The Autocross is usually held in a large parking lot. The DE is still run with PCA rules, but is is not even part of Parade. It is run but the local region. You can call the guy in charge and ask about the roll cage and such.
You will for sure need to be a member of PCA to participate.

Good Friday morning folks.
I have a DVD with 4.5 gigs of my MP3s in both of my cars. I set it for random and let it surprise me. This morning as I fired up the engine it started playing ZZ Top, La Grange from Tres Hombres not the remix from the 6pack. It was followed by the live version from Made in Japan by Deep Purple, Highway Star. Wow, it was hard to stay at the sped limit. The temperature was cool and the car was running great. Ya just gotta kiss that redline, ya gotta.

Morning all. Slept so badly last night an entire bottle of "f-it-tol" is not going to help at this point.

For a PCA DE stock safety equipment is acceptable unless it is a convertible without factory rollover protection.

I am worried because my car doesn't have any stock safety equipment, but I would hope they would realize that it is better than 40 year old stock stuff, even if it doesn't meet current safety rules.

No, the HPDE at Laguna Seca Glen mentioned. I realize I can pass tech for the Autocross if I have Jeremy tech it.

Max, just call the guys at the Golden Gate region. They can tell you what is and is not allowed for the DE.

Just don't point your pointer at an attendee and say at one end of this pointer is an idiot. They might ask which end.
