Yeah, it's kinda fun finding out what happened to people you lost touch with after so long.

While I was drugged out with my foot thing through Linkedin and Facebook I re-connected with several people I have not heard from since High School, that's like 36 years.

One of my HS drinking buddies connected with one of my old HS Girlfriends through connecting with me on Facebook. They hit it off, got married, and are now living in Houston running a new pet boarding business they started together.

My college room mate and another close HS friend also live in Houston and are in the Oil & Gas business and are totally involved in the kids lives. One is a CEO and the other is a magazine editor.

A couple of HS friends are now living in Florida. Once is still going to school and doing business startups. He and his wife are way into sailing, They have a very nice sailboat and post a lot of Facebook pictures of water with either the sun going up or coming down. The other Florida HS friend RETIRED LAST MONTH!

Connected up with the girl I took to the prom. Exchanged emails every few days while I was laid up, really helped me get through the ordeal. She and her husband have an advertising company in the Boston area and they a very active in the theater scene.

It is really interesting the things old friends remember about you and how different it is than what you expect and visa versa.

They are forecasting the sun will come out and it will get to 80°F today here in OKC.

Guess that means the weeds are going to start trying to take over the yard now.

One of the first things we do when we arrive at our SoCal outpost is weeding and pruning. Not my favorite thing, and unfortunately, the previous owners didn't have low maintenance in mind when they came up with their landscape layout. Oh well, that'll change when we finally are out there full-time.

Don't do much to my lawn or landscaping. Next door neighbor does all kinds of weird stuff. He's alway got some sort of trashy looking project in his driveway with the garage door open to show off his piles of junk. His landscaping would look great except he trims things drastically a little at a time. The shrubs are partly trimmed neatly and partly gone wild (on the same shrub), And he mows his lawn in little bits at different levels. All winter his front yard as looked like it was terraced a whole 2 inches because he mowed it at different levels from the curb to the house.

No matter how much I've neglected my yard, it always looks better than his.

I pay to have my yard sprayed 4 times a year. That keeps the majority of the weeds in check. I don't let them fertilize because it is so easy to do myself and I don't want a lot of fertilizer put down. Jut enough to keep it growing for a once a week mowing.

The guy two doors down has the best lawn in the neighborhood. He fertilizes like crazy and mows every 3 or 4 days. He does not have a sprinkler system so he is out moving the sprinkler every other day.

I may well do a first mowing this weekend.

I paid some to put down weed killer for a couple of years. Then they got a new guy, he put down the wrong stuff and killed all the shade grass in my entire yard and I am still trying to get it to grow back. They said they weren't responsible because grass does;t like the shade anyway.

I hate people

Driving home, I was taking it nice and easy (keeping it to no more than 14 over as 14 over is a 0 point offense) and three ricetards ripped by me at roughly 100 hooting and hollering like imbeciles. This was on the bridge back onto the island. Right after the bridge is a nice long sweeper that has claimed more than a few cars driven by idiots. So, as I come up to the curve, I notice two of the cars pulled over to the side of the road and the other on it's side on the opposite side of the road. Being a reasonably decent human being, I stopped to check on the driver. He was injured, likely broke a few bones, but not critical so I turned to leave. The other guys started yelling at me to help. I 'politely' informed them that if I stayed, it would be my duty to inform law enforcement of what I observed and they would likely spend the rest of the night in the county detention center. Didn't make a difference though, I asked one of the plantation security guards if he heard and chatter....two arrests, one in the hospital who would be arrested when he was discharged.

Hey, any time I get in trouble doing something stupid or irresponsible I always would like to have someone else help me, AND take the blame if at all possible. Just human nature. Understand you become an adult when you start taking responsibility for your own actions...still working on it.

What did they expect you to do, suddenly transform into an EMT?

I would say that as far as actual trauma, I'm likely a step above the average EMT....god help you if you're alert and I need to place an IV though...I usually take 2 or 3 tries

speaking of photos of the great expedition that Jeff and Sharyn have just undertaken, I have a friend who is currently on holidays, trekking through Nepal, went to the base camp at Everest, doing all that sort of out there having fun stuff, he is my age so good on him, but anyway I digress, his camera failed first day on the trek. Wouldn't that suck big time!! All of those absolutely beautiful views and having to just look, he had others take his photo alot, but just not the same eh.
