Just looking on cars.com there are LOTS of around 2000 model Carrera Cabs and even a C4 Cab for around 15K. There is a red slant nose wide body 85 cab for 16K and a nice looking Red/black 85 Carrera with polished Fuchs for $18K.

I like this one, it's new enough the top has no boot like the boxster and it has the hard top with it.

99 C4 Cab in Cobalt Blue

When I stumbled on the 928 GTS I was looking at 05 or newer BoxsterSs and Carrera Cabs to get the no boot top, Sport Chrono, and PASM. Really like the 2014 Targa, my build your own comes up to only $164K, need to drop by the local dealership and put one on order.

Local owner of a new 50th anniversary 911 still only has 6 miles on it. He actually drove it the other day. Driving it home from the dealership was less than 4 miles. Told him he needed to bring it by my house to let me see it, he hasn't done it yet...would be 4 miles round trip.

I always have to wonder about an ad where they only show pics of the outside and only one side at that. It's just me but I am not a fan of the G50, it just isn't worth the extra weight. I say this since my 915 works very very well so I am spoiled

I like the G50. Sid, that's a nice looking car, even though it's guards red, and a targa. The ad is weak, as Rick pointed out.

I have strongly considered a 996. But my thinking is this, a 996 is still depreciating, where a good 3.2 or even SC is appreciating. Right now they are around the same, I'd rather have the one that's on the uptick, not the down.

Ya, I'm going to try to go look at it to investigate further. . As far as the 915/G50 war, I could care less, I know each has its benefits, I just want a nice example of whatever I buy.

The air cooled 911s, especially the longhoods, are certainly enjoying a price bubble these past few years. I wonder how long that will last.

I've found most cars that are appreciating, appreciate less than the maintenance cost of keeping it in the same condition as when first purchased. Get what you LIKE the most. The biggest difference in water pumper 911 variants is less road feel. I remember a commercial about it where it is shown ripping through some mounty coastal curves and the announcer says some say you don't get that road feel with the new 911. About that time the car stops, the door opens, the driver reach down and feels the road with his fingers. Then announcer says, it's still there.

I'm not a Targa man, but that looks to be a nice car, Sid.
The ad doesn't say much though.

I have to agree weak ad but that could be just a dummy that can't write. And what some folks call "great shape" is very laughable.

Good Tuesday morning folks.

The construction folks doing my pit are such typical construction folks. They came over yesterday afternoon at 4:00 PM to do some more work. It finally dawned on them they need a bigger pit to make the concrete walls thick enough to support the "tub" design of the pit. So out comes the concrete saw and two more inches all the way around. Another big mess in the garage. They left "for a few minutes" to go get the forms. Never saw them again. One of the folks from a different crew came by and said all the concrete trucks stop delivery at 4:00 PM. Like that is a new revelation! I don't think that just started yesterday. So now supposedly around 11:30 they will be back to form it up and pour the concrete.

Richard, I can't meet ya fer lunch today. I have a date with a construction crew.
