The new house has created a learning curve on the mouse war, but I'm working on it, scouring the corners of the garage. I had previously sent the 2 pit/lab critters into all areas of the house to sniff, they were spot on.
War was waged when I was removing the gummie bears (for winter sitting) and could see little claw/paw prints in the fine dust of the wheel lips. As for the boat: I'm thinking Traxxas Spartan, 45-50 mph, on water, out of the box...under $500.

So I take the truck to work this morning because we have snow on the way and the tires that came on the car are utter crap in snow and the truck has Blizzaks. Going the few miles to drop the kids off and the thermometer is reading -5*. Half way to work, crap, the temp gauge is sitting about 140* and no heat which means no defroster for the ride home. I call dad to see if I can get the truck in the local mechanic/body shop. He stopped in and got the truck and the high end $8 thermostat. The other one was a year old. The radiator cap was replaced the same time and that failed a few months ago pulling into Wal-Mart so I just grabbed some pre-mix and a Stant cap while I was there.
Rick will tell you, the LA motors from Mopar will put out some heat once you are going. Ours never did warm up at idle.

It amazes me how well the LA's B's and RB's will burn your feet off but they never even come close to running hot. Peggy will dry your eyeballs out and she never ever goes over 180. Back in the day when I drove bog block Mopar's I was never cold

Cardboard, 1/4" plywood, or a foil windshield screen in front of the radiator...no?

With a 195* thermostat, it should at least get that hot once. I suspect the heater core is leaking as well. I can smell coolant in the cabin.
When I was a wee lad (about 14) I went through the ice during deer season. I stayed warm the two miles in the snow to the end of the drive (I went in a sweatshirt and vest this year for walking but it was in the 30s) and when I got everything packed up and in dad's Dodge Maxivan I took my boots off and put my feet up on the doghouse and he put the vent on full heat and full fan. My socks and pants dried pretty quick. The next year I had water resistant leather boots.

I don't care what part of the world you live in, if you have to cover the grill on a V8 Chrysler you have a problem

What he said. They never get hot, but they can cook your burrito in the foot wells.
Though, the Cobra got hot (210*) this summer with running a few miles down the road, turning it off, new rider and off we go a dozen or so times with a lot of full throttle included. Cooled off once we didn't let it heat soak in the driveway between runs on a motor putting out 406hp for 360 cubes. The next motor will be either a 408 4" stroke LA with 485/525 hp/tq or a normal stroke 360 with 500/490 hp/tq to go in my 2400# car.

I would love to have you come up and we could go down the Apple River, but the water is a bit hard yet.

Yep, my Mopar was warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Only time there was any sort of cooling problem was when a hose blew. Then I just tied it off with a rag, peed the radiator full (not to waste good beer) and went on.

Sorry, I meant the Flambeau river. The Apple is the one they go tubing down.
