Yep, it is.

Good Tuesday morning folks.

I am still fighting my ancient Window 2000 box. I can't fand any way to clone the drive and it is not looking good. I will keep digging and see if I can find a SCSI based clone program that is not really a virus or malware.

Yea, it is.

Back in 1986 when Haley's Comet came back I was big into astronomy. The Oklahoma City Astronomy club met at the local planetarium. Clyde Tombaugh was in town and we were lucky enough to have him as a guest speaker. That was way cool. (OK I admit I am a nerd & geek)

And to keep you from having to google it, Clyde was the man that discovered Pluto. I have had the opportunity to see all the planets.

Mercury is a challenge since it never get very high in the horizon without the sun making it disappear. Venus and the Earth are easy. Mars Jupiter and Saturn are a piece of cake. Uranus & Neptune are a bit of a challenge and Mercury is a real challenge. One of the guys in the club has a 21 inch telescope and he lives in the middle of a very dark area. So I have seen all 9 planets because Pluto was still a planet back then!

No one NEEDS a telescope to see the Earth but just look off at the horizon and you CAN see the Earth! Venus, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn can be seen without a telescope. Even with a 21 telescope they are little more than a speck. Venus is never more than a bright white blob. Mars is a bright reddish blob. Saturn has the rings that make it look like a oval. Jupiter and the rest are just blobs or specks.

Many scenic overlooks have telescopes to look at the view of parts of the earth, just small parts of the earth.

I guess I should say I have personally seen all 9 planets directly with my own eyes. Some planets needed the additional light gathering necessary of a telescope but it was still photons from the sun bouncing off of the planet and directly into my eyes after bouncing of of some mirrors.

David did you see this article?

The Earthquake That Will Devastate Seattle - The New Yorker

That looks scary. Way worse than tornadoes!

Another advantage of a tornado! We get lots of warnings for tornadoes. Sometimes they tell us a week before to get ready for them.

We have had a bunch of tiny earthquakes that are likely caused by the disposal wells. Just 4.2 and lower. No big deal for the most part. I can't even imagine a 9.2 going on for 4 minutes. That would be terrifying even standing in a wheat field 500 miles from the ocean.

Stupid F***ing telemarketers.

I just got a call from another moron. She starts off asking if I we would like to increase our portrait or head shot business. WFT?

I asked if she looked at the name of the business she called.

Since 1947 when the company was started we have only shot one picture that was in any way kinda sorta a picture of primarily people that could be identified. A couple that got married in the back yard of their parents house was a family friend of the former owner. He flew over the wedding at a low altitude and shot some pictures of everyone waving at the airplane.

I bet wedding photographers do that now with drones. We did it in the late 60s or early 70s. He did not remember for sure.

I let all calls from unknown numbers go to voicemail so I can ignore them as needed.

At home I just ignore them. At work we answer all calls because you never know if the caller ID is real or fake. We have had some real customers call and the caller ID is something strange because they use Skype or some TCPIP long distance.
