It's one of those days...the kind of days I'm at the office and have no reason to be here other than a meeting this morning...I've done jack ischt all day as it's a very distracting atmosphere

Man, it has been busy here. I likely will not have time for at least one of my naps.

We had some school shopping to do last night and ate at Burger King. Jacob (age 5)had seen the commercials for the spicy chicken fries while we were on vacation and knows I like spicy food so he was telling me the whole time that they will make my mouth cry since that is what the commercial said. I ordered some to share last night and he was watching as I ate one and I told him they weren't spicy at all. He didn't take my word for it and tried on in ranch and then tried it plain since the ranch covered what spice there was. After he ate that one he asked to get out of the booth and we asked why and he said he was going to go to the people up front because they were not spicy at all and we should get our money back. We had a little discussion on how commercials work. I think deep down he was upset that my mouth didn't cry.

I'm not really into spicy things much, and generally get heartburn from anything with a red sauce or red dry rub. I do love the green tabasco in my chili.

I like spicy food and he likes some spicy stuff, but these were not in any way spicy. My mom does not like anything with more spice than a bell pepper and I am pretty sure she could eat those chicken fries.

When I was a puppy in my teens, 20s and 30s I ate a ton of spicy food. Heck I lived for my mom's Chili. No beans in her chili. Just chili peppers and meat and onions. She won the blue ribbon at the Oklahoma State fair. It was HOT and could make you sweat just stirring the pot and that is NOT an exaggeration! Really.

About the time I turned 40 I had to have a bottle of Maalox next to me to eat it. It was brutal as just a chip dip salsa. She finally quit cooking it and I would love a bowl of it and a couple of bottles of Maalox to wash it down now.

I am a total wimp now with spicy food. I can eat some good salsa and go straight for the Maalox.

I can still do the spicy stuff. That said, I don't eat the stuff that is really hot just to be really hot. I make a Jambalaya that is pretty warm. My wife won't eat it because she says it giver her small blisters in her tongue.

I would file a report with HR about that. It just ain't right keeping a fella from his naps.

Yard is mowed, pool is clean and covered, and the neighbors have been notified that we are leaving tomorrow afternoon.

Ever so often I get into spicy stuff. Have to start not too spicy and work up the the hotter stuff.

Usually like to do it YingYang Style. Follow the spicy with ice cream.

what is this mowing you speak of? We have been asked to let all of our lawns go brown in order to save water.

We've had no problems with water shortages for the past few years. I have to cut my lawn 2x per week to keep it looking nice.

We had severe drought last year. This year we are nearly 20 inches ABOVE normal. This month has been just a little dry. I have a water well hooked to my sprinkler system to water my yard. It is good water but the house is hooked to city water and sewer. I can water even if the city is in rationing.

We haven't had a good rain for weeks, but we are only watering the garden and the grape vine. The grapes are producing for the first time this year. It has been so long since we planted them that we forgot what kind we planted.

One day last week in a matter of minutes we saw enough rain for a week. Maui and the surrounding islands were all cloud covered at the peaks and once a day it would rain just a bit. Monday it poured, soaked to the bone in seconds.

I know a guy that ate a Carolina reaper pepper once. They're something like 8 times as hot as a habanero....

He kept a straight face for about 3 minutes, then started sweating and having blurred vision and ultimately threw up everywhere and laid, shivering on the floor for half an hour. It was hilarious.
