Fly safe Jeff.

I got the 15 inch wheels back on the 911. They sure look tiny in comparison to the monster 17s. They are sure a lot lighter.

Will be interesting to see what you notice with the 17's at the autocross.

My BoxsterS was slower with heavier wheels, but I didn't care cause I really liked the look of the heavier wheels...

Well, I survived the cult wedding over the weekend. I grew up in a family of happy clappers, but this was some full on weird 5hit.

Back to work after 11 daze off. I did get a few home projects completed....dug and installed a new sump pit in the basement, installed new dishwasher, and new countertops in the kitchen, replaced all downstairs drainage plumbing....YEEHAW !

I needed to get back to work so I can rest my aching body.

I drove around for 50 miles or so. Mostly highway driving. After I got the mold release crap off of the tires I took a few on ramps at an slightly aggressive speed. They for sure have a lot more corning stick. I can stand on the brakes and the whoa felt faster than before. I just need to get them balanced properly and hit the autocross.

The old tires were M&S rated and a tread wear of 330, 205-50 fronts and 225-50 rear. The new tires are treadwear 220, summer only, 225-45 fronts, and 255-40 rear. The new 17s are very close to the stock overall diameter so the speedometer is dead accurate on finally. With the 15s I would scrape the skid plate leaving my driveway if I went west. I had to go east into the neighborhood to get out with no scrape. Now the ground clearance is much better. I hated running the tiny tires on the 15s but there were no other tires available.

Oh, didn't know you were running undersized MS. The 220 17's will be faster then! The overall increase in traction will make up for the weight. From similar tires accel/decel from 15 to 17 on the report I saw was .2 seconds slower and cornering was .2 g faster. But the test was done when you could still get the same tires for 15 and 17. There was no different between 17 and 18 because they had to get better tires to fit 18s. I am assuming since you were pretty much forced to go from 15 to 17 then the 15's were much slower than the upgraded 17s so will be faster accel/decel and cornering.

Morning...can't really pass judgement good, bad, or indifferent yet. Hope your day is a good good one despite being the first Monday of the New Year.

My next to last living Aunt was diagnosed with cancer this past week. She is 80. She wrote books on and taught fly fishing after retiring as a school teacher. My last living Aunt owned bars after retiring as a teacher.

Sid, I photographed weddings for more years than I want to remember. I saw some bizarre and almost comical weddings. I grew up in a Methodist family. No booze at church and very conservative music and actions.

The Catholics have some epic receptions and the first time I saw a nun with a huge mug of beer at the church it was a culture shock for me. That wedding took forever. The happy couple had a lot of "guest speakers" and everyone was long winded.

I did a few hippy weddings at the park outside and Episcopalian have some strange rituals.

The African wedding was the most bizarre of them all for me.

In the end the couple is married in a ceremony that is OK with the couple and I got paid.

I never got the chance to shoot a Jewish wedding. I would like to have seen that.

I have to guess any wedding for one group is strange to another group. From my perspective at least most were the some old boring wedding.

Mornin' all. Sunny and, well, not warm here.Had a somewhat lazy weekend but did clean the garage. Got some shopping done. Bought some new lights for the kitchen since it is dim in there. Now it is too bright and too white. Oh well, I can move those to the dining room since the fixture has a yellow tint to it and will absorb some of the light.

I was mostly asleep at the new year but my sister sent a text to wake me up. I had some documentary or something on. Maybe Modern Marvels. The kids were watching some Top Shot re-runs over the weekend. Jacob now wants to try an AK when he is old enough. I told him we have a friend with a semi-auto version to try. They don't kick much. Then again I am used to a lightweight 30-06 carbine and .45-70.

Sid, Christmas day in CT was 70...today it's low 20s high teens with wind-chill.

Was tough to come back to after a family trip to the in-law's house in Sarasota FL, on the intercoastal...temps in the mid 80s all week. was an awesome time and the entire family had a great time.

I managed only 1 trip to the urgent care for stitches
(hate it went the Jet-Ski sinks)

4 storms in a row coming to SoCal this week. Forecast calls for one each day: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and the fourth on Thursday/Friday. However, it just drizzled a little this morning, and now it's gorgeous out.
