Good Morning.

Since it is 5am, I'm thinking I missed the dreaded maintenance time.

Wow, just saw the results. Seinfeld got $22.2M for the 17 cars he auctioned off. The estimate was 15 or 16. The 550 Spyder went for $5.3M and the 917 $3M. His 1960 Beetle went for $121K, 4 times the Haggerty value. A Carrera GT didn't sell.

Just out of curiosity wonder what he spent on those cars and how much over market they went for because he owned them?

Way too much money for me to understand the actual value since looking at possible destitution.

121 K for a 1960 VW bug in silly stupid. I owned and drove one when it was just an 11 year old used car. I paid $600 for it and sold it for $650. 0 to 60 was over a minute. 70 was absolute flat out and only on a flat road with no head wind. I got 36 MPG and the throttle was either at idle or floored. I had the deluxe version since the seats were on rails and were easily adjustable. The standard version had a wingnut under the seat. One had to get out, loosen the the wingnut and re-position the seat then tighten the nut for a standard model.

Mine did not have a gas gauge. Those were an option. I did cut notches on a dowel rod and carried that in the trunk. Nothing like a fuel soaked piece of wood for a nice ambiance. That $600 is the equivalent to a $3,500 car today. A $3,500 car toady would be a much better car in every way.

Good morning all.

Last night for our anniversary meal we went to out standard place. We had our first date and Pearls and every anniversary dinner there since.

When the waiter came to take our meal order he asked the standard question "Do you know what you want to order or do you need more time?" I told him I knew what I was going to have 24 years ago. Shrimp Pearl of course. Yummy.

As Jerry Clower used to say "It's so good it makes ya wanna slap yo momma for never having made it" And of course like any southern boy yo momma is sacred and anyone hitting your momma is tantamount to an act of war and would be dealt with post haste. So that cooking was REAL good.

Used to eat lunch at the downtown Pearls called Crab Town. For a short time they had a grilled tuna steak sandwich. It was fantastic. Don't understand why they ever took it off the menu. Had to go back to the Shrimp Creole.

Went out for my son's 17th birthday on Saturday night to Red Lobster....I know, I know, not 5 star cuisine, but wer're simple folks, and the food was awesome. My wife and my son both had the big Lobster boil plate, and I had stuffed flounder/shrimp Linguine. Had the rest of my noodles for lunch Sunday.

When I put Lindsey Headers on my 944T after several drives they were really purty. They turned that pretty blue like next to the welds on those.

Mine were ceramic coated. They didn't blue, just rusted.

Sid, do they have the anti-gravity stuff for sale that keeps em upside down and hanging on the wall?

I sure don't understand Apple when the shutter button for the iPhone camera is on top like every other camera on the planet the pictures are upside down. I hate holding the iPhone the other way and using my thumb to fire the shutter.

The issue started when they enabled the volume buttons to take the phone, iPhone 5. If you were use the front button to take pictures the natural thing would be to rotate the phone counter clockwise so you could still use your thumb on the button. However, that puts the volume buttons on the bottom.

There is exif data embedded in the photo data itself that tells the program the correct orientation of the photo, but it seem some software does not recognize this data and displays the data in a default manner displaying photos taken with the camera upside down, well, upside down.

Thats all I know, and I have been known to be wrong before though I don't enjoy admitting it.

Yep, since we moved Office to the cloud a bunch of people have complained and the can download copies to run locally.

Funny how people that always run software locally think it is fine to run from the cloud.

Funny, from a time long ago I remember someone giving the reason for desktop computers in the first place is you could run stuff locally and wouldn't have to rely on server access or resources. Call it cloud and everyone forgets so fast.

Wonder when someone is going to be able to sell faster access and better security for local services and data. And everyone start moving everything back.

I am ready!

I think the entire cloud computing is a scam and a lot of BS.

It makes me miss the days of a stack of floppies to install a program. At least I could re-install anytime I needed. I just can't 100% trust any online source to be hack proof and even more important not data mine mine information.

I just can see inputting my entire health history on my phone to be store on the cloud where I can't control who has access to it. No way will I use the Quicken iPhone app. I do on-line banking but I know what my credit union does to keep my information private.
