It is supposed to get to the 80s today. Guess what, Glen is wearing SHORTS! and it ain't Monday. Win, Win, Win!

Sorry to one up ya Jim!

My co-worker drives a Mazda Miata. He noticed a funny sound that only happened in corners. If he touched the brakes at all the noise would go away. So to investigate that, look at the brakes is the logical thing. The passenger side inside pad was right down to the absolute minimum but all the other pads were fine. The pin that the pads slide on is mounted to a cage that hold the caliper. The pin was frozen in place in the cage and could not float as designed. $65 will get a complete cage, caliper and all the pins and clips. OK, those are available. So he wants to try to break the pin loose. Why not. He broke a cheap Chinese 17 mm socket trying to rotate it. Tim Taylor MORE POWER arf arf is needed. I have a 3 foot long pull handle with a full set of impact sockets. He can't hurt my tools. Let's do the twist!

Sure enough with less than 50 pounds on the end of my wrench the bolt just twists in the bracket. It is not coming out. Time to wait for the new part. 150 ft lbs is too much for that bolt.

I talked to a buddy of mine that knows about those brackets. He said he had a customer with a Mustang with a similar setup. They tried to heat things and the bracket just snapped. On another one they got the bolt out but the hole was messed up and the new bolt would not work right. Replacement is the only logical option.

Jeff, back in my single days I took a hot date to a local steak place. I had the same service you were getting. I walked into the kitchen and asked for the manager. Of course they get pissy about a customer in the kitchen. I asked why it is taking an hour to get a couple of steaks cooked. I look around and half the kitchen staff is watching a freaking ball game, not doing their job. The manager come back to see why I am in there and I point to the group of folks around the TV and said I had been waiting an hour. I then told that manger I was going to get my date and we were going somewhere that wanted a happy customer. I walked to my table handed my waiter a 10 spot and left (with my date). I was probably on 22 at the time. A steak should come out promptly and be hot. That Steak & Ale closed a short time later.

We ended up at a local taco shop but she was OK with that.

Mertnin

Only had bad service like that at a McDonalds drive thru at lunch. Told me to pull ahead and waited for 15 other cars. Went back thru drive thru ordered the same thing and paid with my receipt. Got the food that time and a coupon for a free meal.

Oh yeah...at restaurant one time the waitress brought out the food on a big tray she set the tray on a stand next to the table and started distributing the plates. While she was busy handing out the food some guy from the next table grabbed the stem of the chili relleno on my plate like he was trying to determine what it was. My niece saw it and freaked, pointing and yelling at the guy saying, "That guy touched our food!" getting the attention of everyone in the place. The guy acted like it never happened. The waitress got me another order. They didn't do or say anything to the guy, but he didn't look at our table the rest of the time he was there.

Why would you touch someone else's food?

I really liked their chili rellenos because they used green chili peppers instead of pablano peppers. Sometimes they were really hot!

Long story short: 2.5 hours to get a pizza at Pizzaria Uno and they didn't discount the pizza but said dessert was free. We each ordered 5 desserts. The retail of the desserts ordered was far more than the pizzas.

My dad said he went to a fancy place to eat with some of the crew of his airplane. After 45 minutes and no food my dad and three of the crew walked into the kitchen and grabbed some steaks and started grilling them themselves. The manager came in screaming that they could not do it and and my dad said "well neither can your staff, and we are hungry and have better things to do than wait on a streak that only takes 8 minutes to cook." They finished cooking the steaks and walked them right to the table and handed them out like it was a backyard cookout. All cooked to perfection and they knew the cook did not get a chance to spit on the food or do anything to the steaks.

Just last night I ordered a sandwich from the local Marco's Pizza and had it delivered. I like their sandwiches because you can add all kinds of stuff to them like on a pizza. My favorite is ham, itallian sausage, mushrooms, black olives, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, and double mayo.

Anyway, the very prompt delivery guy tried to delivery me two pizzas. I asked how they fitted my sandwich into two pizza boxes. He had the sandwich, but brought the wrong thing to the door. He must have been new, didn't recognize him.

Our daughter has an appointment coming up and she is excited because there is an Erberts and Gerberts there for lunch. She loves the buffalo/bleu cheese sandwich.

We don't have no erberts and gerberts. Like Marco's because they are pizza oven warmed, the bun is all toasty and cheese all gooey. They are also one of the few pizza joints that put lettuce and tomator ona sammich.

My sandwich they added to the menu was Texas toast, ham, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, black olives, american cheese, swiss chees, then warmed in pizza over until bread toasted and cheese melted. Then add mayo, lettuce, and tomato.

Fixed it for myself, the waitresses would get bites of it and tell me how good it was. Then customers saw me eating it and the waitresses would say how good it was and ask me to make it for them. Wasn't long before it got added to the menu. Same thing happened with the Nachos I made for myself. Added sausage and mozzarella to the regular nachos that had cheddar and jalapenos.

We have a Marco's here, but it isn't like yours. The last time I ate there I wasn't sure if they left the cardboard under the crust when they served it, or if the cardboard was the crust.

Our chief pilot came in for a while to order more airplane parts on-line.

Just chatting with him he had two personal airplanes. A Cessna 210 Turbo that looks like it is brand new and full of all sorts of neat toys, and his 1946 Cessna 140. A 70 year old airplane that is about as basic as possible. He had had it in an annual for the last few months. He is in no big hurry to finish it up when it was winter. Now that spring has sprung he wants to get it in the air. Since ADSB is required in a few years he is going to get it compliant now.

It was delivered with radios that were tube based. No transistors in 1947. It is just a cool old toy.

Sort of odd to have ADSB in a steam gauge plane. Kind of like a Caterham with a nav screen in it and a high end radio.
