Would a volume discount help? I only got 7 windows, one picture window, and two glass doors (not even sliding). Got smoke AND cob webs on mine. It's time to do spring cleaning. I sure miss having a maid come thru every other week.

Our pastor was $75 and the large wedding cake was a gift from a friend that was a caterer that was retired. That was good cake. We did serve food though so that was our biggest cost.

I am just keeping the cash flowing. I ordered a new stereo for my 911. The old one is fine, but old school. It plays a CD or DVD. The new one is iPhone ready, and bluetooth and USB digital files. I can plug the iPhone in and run Pandora from the stereo, or if I have to use it for navigation it will talk through the speakers on the car.
It will charge the phone as it plays. All for $89.90 delivered. The other choice was to add a third power connector under the dash. Right now I have the GSP plugged into the one under the dash. The factory cigar lighter in the dash is left alone and the wires are out of the way for road trips.

Mmmmmmmmm!
I had a lovely day installing recessed lighting in one of our bedrooms. I got the fixtures in place and wired them together. Tomorrow, I will wire them up to the wall switch. I really don't like being up in the attic. It's going to be a while before I install any more recessed lights! Last edited by Jim Richards; 04-19-2016 at 03:27 PM.. |

I get all itchy if I go up in my attic.
When I was in college I did custom stereo installs in people houses. I put speakers in the ceilings and controls for the room on the light switches with a control for the CD juke box. It was before the home theater thing and those people really liked it. Got away with charging $25 an hour in 1977. In 2012 money that comes to $90 and hour. Most of it was crawling around in the attic running speaker wires. Never got itchy then. Helped a guy I did electronic assembly for so he could have his house wired for music. He also had me help him do a new bank that was just built. Didn't want to step on his toes so asked him if he minded if I did it on my own. He said he thought it would be great and got me a couple of other jobs. My Mom and another lady made almost all the custom drapes etc, for most all the interior designers in town. Got my foot in the door thru them and told the interior designers what I did and how much I charged and what the equipment cost and became well know for custom home music. The biggest interior designer in town asked me take on his son my age. Felt a little obligated since I got most of the jobs from him. His son stepped thru the ceiling on the first day on his first job. His Dad apologized and had the ceiling repaired at his expense. Told me his son was evidently just too much of a clutz. He was really hoping his son could do the work because it paid better than anything else he could find him. Also said the major reason they liked having me do the work and didn't mind paying me so much is I never messed anything up. I never stepped thru a ceiling except once at home. Relied on a board across some joists, it broke and I landed sitting in Dad's lazy boy in front of the TV. My Mom heard the crash and came running. She looked at me sitting in the lazy boy with all the ceiling and insulation, then up at the ceiling, then back at me, then laughed. Don't even remember what I as doing up there. Patched the ceiling just fine. But the real down side was having to re paint both the living room and kitchen ceilings so it would all match.

When I installed the central vacuum system in our house I was in the attic a LOT. You have to do a funny dance move to get to the main part of the house. The area above the cent bay in the garage is floored. The get to the area for the rest of the house you have to take a WIDE step over the heat and air distribution lines and that leaves you facing the rest of the furnace and blower. So then you have do do a second funny step to get over the vent line for the kitchen. Then the you have to go UP because the living room has 12 foot ceilings. Drilling into the dual headers is lots of fun. I ended up putting down boards to stand on in several places and mapped out a path with green paint on good places to step. I added red paint on some areas that at first glance look OK, but are not safe to step on.
I really don't wanna go up there again. Happy Hump day folks. Except Jim, Happy Saturday and Jeff, good night it is almost Thursday.

Dickhead of the week award goes to......
ME ![]() Didn't get one end of the barbell into it's cradle while doing a set of presses at cardio class tonight. Now got a sore noggin, and a small cut under my right eye from my specs when I dropped the bugger on my scone. Glad it was cardio and had light weights on the bar. Should have known better - feeling like a right cock at the moment.

So when people ask what is up with the cut you NEED to come up with a better story than that!
Something like a biker gang was attacking a young lady and you had to fight them off with your martial arts skills but one of them sucker punched you. Make it a good story!

I hate stupid people! What a shock.
We have a client that we have flown a monthly construction project for them. The have hired a moron in their clerical department. They want updated proof that we have insurance on the airplane and general liability. So we send them the new information for 2016. She keeps asking for the same thing, we send it again. She says no we need the general liability insurance. Look at page one, it says in big text, general liability, you ask for it, you got it twice. Now she wants a copy of the automobile insurance. We don't have a company car to have insurance on! How can we get automobile insurance on a car we don't have, never have had and never will. We have an airplane and no cars. We do aerial photography not automobile photography.
