It didn't look or sound like this couple was joking around. They were absolutely brutal and vernacularly enriched in their slams of each other. They both cussed like sailors.

If I remember correctly the jest was that she had told him to stay in the car while she paid so they wouldn't be late, and he didn't. He didn't want anything from the store either, he just got out and followed her in to piss her off.

The one with the most toys leave their kids with the most stuff for them to deal with and argue over.

I'm not a bit fan of toy acquisition, however, I like sailing a lot and have been doing it since college. I haven't had a boat for the past 10-12 years. Just renting. Rental boats aren't as well equipped/maintained and sometimes aren't available when I want to use one.

Friend of mine in Florida talks about how expensive a Porsche is, but has a good sized sail boat.

I am way more likely to actually say "May the 4th be with you" than tomorrow's made up day of drinking. 5th of May drinking is almost as stupid and St. Patrick's day. Just a good evening to stay off the roads.

But tomorrow you are supposed to play La Cucaracha over and over while drinking Dos Equis until you pass out.

When I lived in Dyersville I left town for St Patrick's Day. I could never understand getting so drunk you don't remember it.

Grumble grumble hurumph.

I am out of number 10 envelopes at home and since I am the treasurer for our region I still mail checks out to pay bills and reimburse members expenses. So I go to a local Office Depot and look for #10 envelopes. The have what I need in boxes of 500 only. That would be a 20 year supply and I don't have room to store them. Plus I don't plan to be treasurer in 2036. The only envelopes they have in smaller boxes are the peel and stick type that can't go through a laser printer.

Off I go to Staples and lo and behold they have a nice selection of envelopes. I have to wonder at the decision makers that decide what is on the shelf and how they decide what to stock. I almost ordered them on Amazon and I suspect if I even need more I will order on-line.

Yep, as much a I like beer I have never ever once had a green beer. I have no interest in tomorrow's fake celebration.

I got this email from my wife.

This morning I looked at Jacob and realized he had chocolate muffin in his eyebrows. I asked how he did that and his response was "I sneezed."

Glen, if you don't partake tomorrow you must be racist!

The company where my wife works is Mexico based. I asked her if they get May 5 off.

She replied "why?". Duh, it's cinco de mayo!

She gave me the look and told me to stop it.

As the HR manager she is coming up with employee appreciation days and asked me for advice.

I, being the gracious husband that I am, suggested the following:

Taco Tuesdays
Fajita Fridays
Salsa Saturdays or Sundays

She gave me the look and told me to stop it.

I get the look alot.

We used to have Food Truck Tuesdays. It didn't last very long when the food trucks figured out they could sell more at other locations for lunch time.

The last random drug test that tested everyone in the company everyone passed. They had pizzas delivered for lunch for the whole company.

We have monthly employee meetings. On the month of your Anniversary working at the company you get to go stand up in front of everyone and your supervisor tells a little about you and something positive thanking you for your service and you are given a gift. Everyone gets the same thing and its usually worth from $15 to $25. We've gotten all kinds of stuff, most of it personalized with our name on it; pocket knifes, pen and pencil sets, ice chests, day packs, jackets, mag flashlights, etc. That's besides the milestone anniversary gifts that are given at Christmas.

Every year they have a festival where they close off the street. They have carnival rides and games, free BBQ, drawings, and a car show, things for the whole family. Employees are encouraged to bring their families so they can see where they work and explain what they do.

This month they are doing an art contest were employees and their families can submit art for display in the big meeting room and prizes are given for the winners in different categories including peoples choice.

At our company we have a neat celebration. It is called payday. We had two Christmas parties so far in the last 7 years. No presents or gifts, just the company buys some food and drinks at a nice restaurant.

I am very familiar with "the look" from the spousal unit. To get a "stop it" to boot is a double play!

As long as she refrains from using all three names I think he is ok.

I've never pushed it far enough to have her use my full name. That would be weird, anyway.

It goes back to the banter thing with us.

I'm so good with messin' with her that I can tell she is giving me the look over the phone.

She has only hung up on me once in 17 years. I REALLY farked up that day! Not sure what I said but it wasn't the right choice.
