Glad I don't have to look busy. As long as I get stuff done, I'm good.

Train the bomber to always bomb in one place so you can scoop it easily. I know it's supposed to be good fertilizer, but ewe. Have my dog go in the North East corner of the back yard. That way the wind seldom wafts the odor to an undesirable location. Only really matters in the summer and the wind is most always from the south. Neighbors to the North have their own dogs stinking up their own back yards so probably don't notice any additional odiferous emanations wafting in from the South.
Next door neighbor to the south has a big fat weenie dog that bombs his front yard. He keeps it scooped though. When he had a Dalmation, he also kept 3 front yards in each direction scooped so no-body would mind his dog being out without a leash.

One BIG advantage of little dogs is small dog bombs. One of my good friends has Irish Wolfhounds. A 200 pound dog and make some huge piles. 10 and 12 pound dogs not so much.

Yep. Our mini schnauzer makes mini dog-poop. She also doesn't eat us out of house and home.

The Washington Post is running an article on man-made earthquakes and in it was this graphic.
![]() https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/speaking-of-science/wp/2016/03/28/new-seismic-hazard-map-includes-fracking-related-quakes-for-the-first-time/?hpid=hp_rhp-more-top-stories_no-name%3Ahomepage%2Fstory I guess it's better to be in SoCal than OKC if earthquakes are your concern.

Yeas ago one of my friends had a Great Dane. He started dating a chick that he married that had a cat named Glen.
That Dane could leave a pile that would kill a lawn mower engine. She looked in astonishment at the size of the dog and asked "what does it cost to feed that monster" and Gary said well the bag of dry food is however much it was back then and he eats this much each day so the cost is about 15 cents per day. Then he asked how much it cost to feed the cat. "Well he gets a can of this fancy can food and that is 90 cents per day...." She never mentioned the cost of feeding the dog again. The cat was used to dogs and like any cat would try to defend itself. The dog could eat the cat in three gulps if he wanted. They ended up as best friends and slept together and played together. The cat even knew he had a BIG buddy protector. Some other stray male cat came over the fence chasing Glen. He ran right to Duke and Duke went to protect my buddy mode. The stray cat never bothered Glen ever again.

The bombs were just remnants of what didn't get scooped. We had heavy rains the week before which watered them down but made them unscoopable.
It was easier to just flatten them into the ground with the roller. Our dog is only about 60 pounds.

If we have a big enough earthquake we might fall into Texas.
Pepper is 70lbs. And yes, I spend too much on her treats. Not her food, her treats. Going to have to find a couple of throw chains so we can work towards going no leash.

They said that map will be only used for a year. They are man made earthquakes and they are being caused by waste water disposal and that is going to be regulated away. Arkansas had the same problem and they eliminated it by regulating waste water disposal.

So, OKC will not be picking up the moniker Shakeytown?
Buenos Dias y'all. Going away parties tomorrow. Thursday is our last day working for the Man. I gotta go shopping for pastel polo shirts, Bermuda shorts and penny loafers so that I'm nattily attired for the shuffleboard set.

Pepper did real good on her training yesterday evening.
I'm walking her with a 20ft leash. Don't give her any commands, just ignore her. Start off briskly, walk a bit, stop and wait a minute or two, then start off briskly, walk a bit, repeat. You hold the leash with both hands against your chest so when the dog reaches the end it gets a sharp jolt instead of just pulling. The idea being she has to pay attention to me or she gets jolted when I start walking and the leash is used up. The pause when stopping gives her a chance to get distracted and learn she has to watch me or when I start walking she gets a jolt. They say to just walk and don't pay any attention to the dog even if you have to drag it so it doesn't become a battle of wills. And the jolt unbalances them keeping it from becoming a tug or war as it does when most people try to pull their dogs along. At first Pepper stays at the limit of the leash. She doesn't pull, but goes to her limit. After a couple of jolts she stays within 5 or 6ft and keeps an eye on me despite 20 ft of leash. Looking for her to keep within the 5 or 6ft all the time not after the first few jolts at the beginning of her session. 4 different times yesterday evening other walkers came by. 3 walking their dogs. When she noticed and went towards them I immediately changed directions away from them and she got jolted away. After the first one she didn't head towards the distraction and after the 2nd she followed without getting jolted. And when I stopped she just sat and watched them go by instead of trying to go to them. Next we will approach or head towards the distractions then turn away.

Jim, be sure to get a white belt and keep the black tube socks to go with the sandals!
I was going to wear shorts but I remembered we have a lunch appointment with a client. I figured shorts a t-shirt were a bit too casual for a new client. I dress up in jeans and a polo shirt. I know a polo is dressed up because it has a button on the shirt. Sorry Richard, we will have to do our weekly Tuesday lunch on Wednesday if your schedule is open.

Richard, like your old dog Penny, a buddy of mine had a pretty cool dog that went everywhere with him. Baby would stay at his side unless he said stay, and she would stay in that spot until he said OK. Totally cool dog.

Got a business lunch Wednesday.
That's what Penny did, and this is how I trained her. The big difference is I had a huge yard to train Penny in. Pepper I gotta take somewhere with more room and limited distractions (to get her started anyway). With Camber my Mom untrained most of the training I tried. As an example I would try to leash train her and Mom would just let her out to go play with the dog next door. Explaining that Camber needed to be trained BEFORE we let her out didn't do any good. Guess Mom was to used to letting Penny out and telling her to stay in the yard, which meant our front yard and the front yard of the next door neighbor with the Dalmatian he gave free run of the neighborhood. It was kind of fun to watch the Dalmatian leave the front yard and Penny stop at the curb.

One of the really good things this training does is teaches the dog pay more attention to you. That helps tremendously with all other training as well. It learns if anything happens it looks at you to see what to do.
When I used to take Penny R/C flying with me she would sit at my feet. When someone would come up and give her attention wanting to pet her she would look up at me to see if it was okay. Even if she had gotten attention from them before. She wouldn't move unless I said Okay. The only thing she wouldn't do is stay in the Jeep when I was flying. When I was flying she would jump out and lay down right behind me. When I came in for a landing she would go get back in the Jeep. The only reason I knew she was there because other guys warned me to not set back or I would trip over my dog. Got her to where she would go fetch beers out of the ice chests in the back of guys trucks. She even knew who's truck to get the beer out of. It got me free beers. Even if it was Old Milwaukee. If I let her drink beer she would drink it (she liked it), she would get real playfull for about 10 minutes, then want to sleep it off. When she got my paper every morning the paper boy threw the paper at the end of the driveway. She would get the paper for the house across the street and two houses down on each side, put it on their porch, then get ours and bring it in. She would wake me up as soon as the paper was delivered every morning so she could go do her paper route. On several occasions I took Penny to work with me. She would sleep laying next to my feet under my desk and nobody knew she was ever there. Was working really late one night and she jumped up and started growling. I got up and turned to go see what was going on when a gun followed by a policeman appeared in the doorway. I said "It's okay" and she stopped growling. Someone had set the alarm not knowing I was still there. I don't know who was more surprised me seeing the gun coming around the corner, or the policeman being greeted by a growling dog. I miss Penny. However, right now Pepper is asleep right beside me while I'm on the computer.
