I've got people waiting 6-9 months for shift knobs or restorations. Totally not uncommon in this industry.

I wouldn't have minded the wait if the wheels were useable.

When I was recovering from surgery I had nurses coming by for home care. One quit coming. When I asked about her they said she was in an car accident and would have been fine but the airbag gave her 3rd degree burns on her hands. Her car was a Honda.

But but but, on TV they can completely rebuild a POS derelict car into a fantastic show car in just one week! Of course it is going to have HUGE wheels and be slammed low to the ground and have a 50,000 watt stereo system. How can it take you so long to make one little tiny item?

Good Friday morning everyone!

Personally I'd rather they fix it instead of potentially causing 3rd degree burns if it is deployed. Fortunately I've never been in a situation where any of the air bags deployed.

Only had two accidents since I was a teen. Both the other drivers claimed they didn't see me. Neither accident was bad enough to deploy the air bags. Interesting that both cars were the only silver cars I've ever owned AND they were both BMWs. Maybe they had trouble seeing the silver vehicles, maybe they had a subconscious grudge against BMWs or BMW owners.

A long time ago my insurance agent told me that of all the colors green cars are involved the most accidents despite the fact there are more cars of just about any other color.

Sure like the color of my GTS, sigh.

Must be in some sort of time warp. Getting lots of work done but the morning sure is going slow. Afraid if I have any coffee it will just make it worse!

You folks with new fangled fancy new cars. My antique cars don't have explosives in the steering wheel and dash. My El Camino has never had an electric window problem or power lock problem. The tire pressure lights, backup cameras, ABS, seat heaters, power rear view mirrors and automatic headlights and windshield wipers never fail. Now get off my lawn!

Well, to be technical...the ABS fails miserably as you can actually lock up the wheels braking.

When I had the Rover I tried to do my 4x4 quick stop thing. Lock up the wheels, shift to reverse , floor it, then let off the brakes. Stops amazingly quickly even on sheet ice. The ABS on the Rover kept me from being able to lock up the wheels so I couldn't shift to reverse while moving, even on ice. ABS worked too well.

If I don't have ABS at all, how can it fail? It is like saying the anti gravity system failed.

I should have added that, I think the joke predates those books.

That said I have nothing but respect for everyone that has been in service for our country and would be proud to buy lunch anytime.

New spoon should be at the FFL tomorrow sometime. The .22 slide, mag and match barrel arrived last night.

One thing about Overhaulin' is that you can always go back to decent rims and tires. The rest of the car usually isn't too bad, workmanship notwithstanding.

Saw the requirements for FBI quals with a pistol. If you train more than once a month, how do yo miss a full size silhouette at 25 yards? I know it is timed, but it comes out to over a second per shot but you have to draw from a holster. It was on another forum someone that went through the quals but isnt an FBI employee.

Maybe they want to make sure they don't get any Star Wars stormtroopers.

I need to do door sliders on both side of our sienna. My neighbor who does body work says it's not terrible, the doors are just huge. I suspect it will cost a case of beer to enlist his assistance!

My penis always swells up when women touch it. Am I allergic to women?

Met a woman with a tattoo of a sea shell on her inner thigh. When I put my ear up to it I could smell the ocean!

Every few years we fly a large metropolis in a nearby state. It is the downtown area with some of the major city attractions named, interstates are named, The river is named, and several of the central downtown streets are named. When they built the city they did not get the streets quite north and south east or west. The city is "rotated" a few degrees off of straight. They want a large print that is cut into three panels so it can be loaded into a car easily. The three prints are put side by side to make one large display. They want the streets to go straight up the print so I have to rotate the city a few degrees. Map software really does not like rotated imagery. I guess it is easier and cheaper than having them dig up the city to move everything square.

We have to fly it as close to solar noon as possible to keep the shadows of the downtown building as short as possible. Three years ago they were in the middle of a major drought. I had to Photoshop in water from the flight a few years before to make the river a river and not a dry river bed. This year the river is full.

One of the few times it rained where we lived out there was during the fair. It ALWAYS rained during fair time. We probably received one of the three inches per year just those two weeks.

Here in NW Ohio, we make comments about a cloudless/sunny/warm day like it never happens also, but today is 70/sunny....still trying to dry out the 3.5" of rain earlier this week.
