I think I saw a Pokeyman player tonight. He was looking at his phone walking around a church parking lot.
I hate to stereotype but he looked just like that picture of the guy in his room with all of the computer hardware. You know, the guy that lives in his parent's basement and plays video games.

Welp, didn't get to take any pictures of the cars to put the on sites yet. Basically they were in the back of his 4 car deep 2 car wide garage (besides the RV) and needed a wash, kinda dusty with all the moving. He is going to call me when he gets a chance to wash em. Offered, but he said he would take care of it.
The new house he is still moving into is really really nice. Said they had been working on the design for 4 years. The entire back of the house and side of the detached man-cave bar/garage have french doors and cover patios that overlook the pond looking pool with shallow beach area, jumping rocks, and slide hidden in the rocks. Was very relaxing having a beer by the pool and discussing Porsches. The offer of $480K made him think this might be a good time to list some of his collector cars and get a good price for them. If not, says he will just keep em. Says he is getting to where he doesn't like having the cars that he has to keep maintained and can't drive them or they lose too much value. Told him that's why I was glad my 928 GTS had 46K on it when I got it. It was low miles, but not low enough to not drive it. Now it has 68K. Told him about a guy on the west coast that had a 78 5 speed 928 that was lime green with a brown and pasha interior. It was called Kermit. It had less than 1500 miles on it, was spotless, and even still had the original tires. He sold it when the PCA concours started taking off points for such low miles. Last I heard of it it had been sold for over $250K in Europe. Both of his 356s have 912 motors with the original motors on display stands.

Sounds like one nice home he is building. He may NEED to sell a couple of cars to pay for it!
That sounds odd, though. Selling cars to pay for a home. We have to decide today if my daughter really wants to commit to gymnastic competition. 3 hours a night, 2 nights a week. It's costly so we want to be sure she sticks with it.

Looking up the speedster it is just like Jerry Seinfeld's color and all that sold this year for $682,000. Last year the values ranged from $353,000 to $440,000. Except for Seinfelds both the speedster and turboS values have been pretty stable for just over a year. It looks like there were under 200 of either car that year.
Don't think he needs the money for the house after him talking realizing he was maintaining these cars that were so special he couldn't drive them or it would hurt the values significantly. He did say he sure hoped the housing market was good for the house he is moving out of. There were boxes everywhere and he said they still needed to cart some stuff over from the other house. Between my foot ordeal and the rebuild taking so long I haven't put over 2000 miles on my 928 GTS in the last 5 years.

He is also trying to fill up his wine cellar. When we were in Canada at the apple ice cider place he bought several bottles. I bootlegged one bottle back across the border for him.
I suspect like Randy up in Tulsa with his 14 Porsches he can't drive them and I do personally believe the 356s are at the peak. I suspect as the older generation dies off the 356 will become a still valuable collector, but the price will drop. Much like many of the older Ferraris. Good over the hump day morning.

Yep, think he said wine cellar was small 600 bottles. Not a wine drinker so don't know what that means. In the 928 group the are quite a few wine drinkers is why they always stop at wineries on the tour drives.

Wayne, in Oklahoma one can build a 5,000 square foot house on over a acre of land on a wooded lot and do a top quality high end build with top appliances, pool in the back yard, four car garage, fancy cabinets, granite counters and fancy tile floor and furnish it will nice furniture for $750,000 Our current house would be well over a million if it were in other parts of the country. It is nice to have spent a whole lot less and OWN it outright. I would rather spend money on toys than a mortgage.

He is a 3rd generation funeral director. Family owns what was one of the only black funeral homes in the area.
He dropped out of college to help with the family business due to his father's health. If I understand it correctly they also used their hearses to provide ambulance service for the black community until 1972 because the ambulance services would not go there. Recently went back and finished his degree because to serve a huge part of the black community here in OKC you need to be a member of the correct fraternity and you have to have a college degree to remain in the fraternity. When I congratulated him on getting his degree, he just laughed and said, it's just business. Have another friend I met in the Apple computer club in the 80's. The fraternity brothers helped set him up with a print shop printing just about all the funeral programs for the black community. Interesting occupation for a masters in physics. He's still involved in the fraternity on the national level. It is kind of interesting, after I go visit him at his print shop I noticed for the next month or so black people I don't know will smile and wave at me while I'm out an about.

He doesn't talk about the business much. Learned about the hearse ambulance service from the print shop friend.
Being friends with them I don't understand my niece at all. Her and her husband owned and operated one of the two funeral homes in Rolla Mo. After he passed, he was type 1 diabetic, she sold it but still works there. Thought was kinda funny because when her and her husband were dating they used to go parking in the town cemetery, then ended up owning the funeral home. Niece and her husband lived at the funeral home. They had one kid of their own and were foster parents. Ended up adopting 3 of the kids. Then un-adopted one of them after several years after the mom cleaned up her act. Think it would be weird as a foster kid staying in a funeral home.

Morning all. Yesterdays chiro apt was a bust. Turns out that little fall down the steps popped a rib loose and the adjustment was pure hell. Had to go home and go to bed. The neck is still killing me.

Ribs don't pop loose they don't have joints. Something had to break or tear some tissue.
You might try some real medical science for help. Chiropractors, Acupuncture and homeopathy may have great placebo effects but they are mostly just taking your money. It is your pain and your body. I hope you get better soon.

The guy that bought our 911 is restoring a right hand drive 356 for someone. He said it is one of five of that year. The owner found it out west in wine country rotting away. It is said to have some TV time on a British show but they haven't been able to verify.

Sorry about your troubles David.
I went to the urgent care to stop my wife from nagging about it. ![]() No big deal. They took xrays and nothing is broken . duh I knew it wasn't broken. The girl that examined me pushed and pulled my leg all different ways and it really didn't hurt except when she moved it sideways. Turns out I pulled the quad muscle. Ice it for 20 minutes an hour and continue to wear the brace I already had on it. Time in the pool is good therapy as well. Yes, she was kinda cute.
