I rode one of my brother's crotch rockets ONCE. I took off nice and slow and then clicked into 2nd and twisted the throttle. The front end came up quickly. I stopped, turned it around and gave it back to him. "Don't ever let me ride that again!" That kind of power would have me in jail or the ground.

I'll stick to 4 wheels, thankyouverymuch.

My wife had to get up "early" today. Right after I got up for my shower.

She is going back to school. She is looking to become a "Master Gardner" and she is going to a local office of OSU. They are known as the Aggies and they do have some great agriculture programs.

We went to the grocery store for our regular bi-monthly or every other month trip. She bought some gel-ink pens and a notebook. The check out guy was a 20 something dude and said something like "you can tell those pens will write real smooth" so my baby boomer wife was talking back to school stuff with a millennial.

Good for her Glen! Finding something she likes to do will make retirement more enjoyable.

I know most here don't have kids or they are not school age.

My daughter started 5th grade today so I took her so I could go to her classroom and what not. When I went out to walk in with her she told me " Daaaaaad, you can leave now".

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were already too cool to have your parents be near you.

Going to get my wife a birthday cake now.

Yea, I was teasing my wife to be sure to be polite to the teacher and no fighting on the playground or in the cafeteria. Try to make lots of friends. Having never sent a kid to school I did not have any canned advice on going back to school. It has been a LONG time since I went off to school and I forgot what all my mom told me back then.

Don't let the bullies take your lunch money.

Never had to worry about that, took my lunch until HS.

Been riding since I was 5. Started on a Honda Z50 and went up form there. Currently looking at one of these. I know the history on it so it should be a good bike. A good friend of the family owned it first, now dad owns it.

Oh, for you people in the military, current or otherwise. I have a question on etiquette. At Mt. Rushmore they have a lighting ceremony and then have a tribute to all the military members there. When they did the flag ceremony I was taking pics but got a nudge from my wife to look at our 6 year old. He was standing on the bleachers, ramrod straight holding a salute with the social finger touching his eye brow/corner of his eye. This is something he learned on his own and I wasn't sure if it is fitting since he is not in the military. I did not say anything at the time.

The one I broke my leg on was a YZ 250.

That young, pretty sure most would just think the salute was cute.

When one of my nephews got married he was in the Air Force stationed at Altus.
He was a crew member on a C-130.
While there for the wedding his older brother, also in the Air Force, his Dad, the extraterrestrialist discharged years ago, and I went on base and got a tour of his plane.
Going across the base both my nephews saluted any officers or their cars, etc. even though they were in skivys.
My brother saluted too?

It has been a long long time since I was in the Boy Scouts and studied flag etiquette. As I remember if you are not in uniform, don't salute. Just put your hand over your heart or leave your hands at your side.

Everyone should turn and face the flag.

If you are saluting do a proper salute. Hand and wrist as flat and straight as possible. Finders together.

Just got back from my physical. Looks like I passed, out of the type two range and back to the more normal side. Just have to keep up the good eating habits.

Still have those. They have narrowed the huge pain to be in my neck and radiating to the ret of the head. So its probably stress and tension.

Wow. I don't have any experience with them but my niece has gotten them for years. She's tried all kinds of remedies but, as far as I know, she still gets them. She's the one who cut off her parents so we have no contact with her.

He was saluting the military personnel, not the flag.

If you are a football player everyone gets pretty upset if you don't at least stand up.

Dad has one of the infra-red grills. It works pretty well for the most part. We do use the wood chips for flavor in it and it is similar to his old grill with the "lava" rocks in it that block the direct heat form the flames. When I grill at home I use charcoal. Still haven't bought a tank of gas for the grill we bought. It would be nice for warming things on it or finishing stuff from the charcoal side.

My FIL worked for the local Electric company. Their hose was 100% electric. He had a huge grill that I assumed was a gas grill or charcoal. Nope, 220 electric. The sucker hummed when he set to high to burn off the old food residue. Not many people has an outdoor 220 outlet.
