From my experience...generally no. They just had to get the work accomplished efficiently. Keeping employees happy by being @giid with people" seems a more recent, millennial type construct. Essentially, in most jobs I had "back in the day," the manager essentially owned you because you were at their mercy (pay, hours, promotion, etc.) and your positive feelings about the boss or your job really were based on having a job and being able to feed yourself. and your family...unless you had some sort or in-demand, specialized skills. They jerked you around as much as they wanted. There was always someone else who would do your job without whining...likely for less money.

Happy Frikkin' Birfday Richard!

I realized this morning that my son is as tall as me. It seems like he grew a few inches over summer. Holy cow! He is going to be tall, I suspect.

A guy I went to HS with bought a Ducati 969? yesterday. I'm not really into bikes but it is darn sexy!

Detailing the MIL's pickup today. Tomorrow I am working on a 03 Deville for a school volunteer. Pretty sure it's the TPS sensor based on his description of the problem.

Hey Richard, did you see this post?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/928259-c-panel-restoration.html

If he can do that to a AC panel he might have the magic for your steering wheel.

We have a competitor in a different city a ways off that has hired us to fly some jobs for them and just deliver the film to the competitor. That is OK, but they had us fly a bunch of projects and then not pay us. I am talking new Cayman GT4 type money. We had to go to court and get a judgment to get our money. Now if we fly a project for them they send a check before we fly it for them.

One job we flew for them last year is coming up again this year. When we flew anything for them we always marked it up 25% or more than just some other random flying job as a screw you surcharge. We bid on the project for them and the final client. We bid it for double the cost to the competitor as compared to the final client. Guess who the final customer hired to fly it.

We will only fly projects for that competitor at a premium markup now. We have heard they are struggling and after they tried to screw us, we are happy to help in the struggle.

I just got the a call on my cell phone. Some India Indian with a thick accent said my computer has been downloading viruses and has called them. I told him I never use the internet because it is the work of the devil and the road to damnation and hell. Anyone on the internet is worse than (many expletives deleted) scammers. His mother is a goat whore and his father is a....... The low life hung up on me before I had time to insult him anymore.

I would have told him my Vic 20 hasn't been turned on this month but if he can wait I will crank it up and then ask which disk was infected.

I act all stupidly concerned and tell them how neat it is that my computer contacted them. Then I ask them if they can tell me which computer it is as I have several. Of course they can't tell me. Then say I some old computer and some newer ones and can they tell me what operating system the computer that contacted them is running, XP, Win7, Win8, win10 etc..When they can't tell me I ask about how lthey know it was my computer if they can't tell me anything about it. etc etc. If the do offer any information I tell them I have all Apple computers. Basically I string them along as long as possible making them think I am going to hire their services to clean up my computers and try to get them to admit to as many facts about my network as I can to throw it back at them. One of these days if I have time when they call I will see If I can get them to remote into an extra Mac Mini I have with it in a DMZ and see what they do.

That may sound funny but Cox Business called me that one of the computers on my network had a specific windows virus and if I didn't do something about it they would turn off my router. Asked them questions about the IP address etc. and then told them all I had was Macs and couldnt possibly be spreading a windows virus. The excused themselves for a few minutes, then came back and appologized. He said they were using a new security monitoring company and evidently they had hired the wrong company and put on my account that I have all macs so I won't be bothered again.

Truck is done and back home...outside so it gets rained on.

I've always wondered how people get seatbelts all twisted up. Took me quite a while to fix theirs. They probably don't even know but I do..

I started to play along with the scammer. Then I realized it was almost nap time and I did not want to miss out on nap time so I just went into azzhole mode to get rid of him.

Yea, it is amazing the punishment a vehicle can take. I bet that was one sore driver after bouncing around like that. Those are some hard hits. It would interesting to put it on a frame rack and see if it was tweaked.

The new grill just got here. Happy Burpday to me! Wasn't supposed ta get here till tomorrow.

Also got the new to me Cayenne Turbo to drive around until some more parts come in.
It needs a couple of the parking sensors.

Showed me the too small front rotors and brake pads. They were brand new. Form the wear, half the pads weren't even touching the rotor.

They also did the air suspension calibration lowering for me so it is riding as low as my S.

That Durango clip sure reminds me of when I had my first full size GMC Jimmy and worked nightes as a machinist where I work now. About once a week most of us would leave work at 4:30 am, two hours early. Then meet up at the Motocross track down by the river down town. After a few beers we would drive our cars and trucks around the motocross track (very similar to that Durango).

The night shift supevisor got a brand new LTD Crown Vic and drove it around the track like that. He had consumed enough beer that he said he wouldn't own a car that wouldn't go around the track and took off in it. He amazingly didn't tear anything up on it. He usually brought his Ford Pinto. It was amazing were that thing could go it had such a steep attack angle on both the front and rear bumpers.
