We have a nut on the left, a nut on the right and Johnson in the middle. That combination sounds familiar and I suspect the country is gonna get screwed. I do feel bad for the young folks trying to make a life in the near future.

Maybe we really do need that invasion by extraterrestrials to bring humanity together again. That is as likely to happen as congress actually doing the best thing for the country and not their special interest friends and making themselves rich. Bigfoot will come riding into Washington on the backs of Unicorns before Congress gets busy doing what the should do.

I was looking through some of the photos on my phone.



For some unknowable reason the engineers at GM decided that a corner of the backside of the front of the dash next to the release cable for the emergency brake and behind several wire bundles would be a great place to hide the relay for the turn signals.

To even take the picture I just shoved my phone in a small area and took a bunch of photos. Most were just garbage, but I did find it. I have no idea how any normal man's hand can reach in there. I guess I will have to disassemble and remove the instrument panel and maybe reach it from above. No way can I get my hand in the there now.

I don't think they do. I would love to find the engineer that thought that was a good place to put anything, and kick him in the nuts.

Fortunately for now the turn signals are working normally. I plan to double check every ground wire I can find and hopefully that will be the issue.

Hey all!

I went to vacuum upstairs and found the handle release was broken on the device. It wasn't the last time I used it but I think one of the kids used it yesterday. yay

The foot control had a plastic "tang" that acted as a spring to keep tension on it to hold the upright handle in place. You step on the pad and it releases. Found a faucet spring and stuck it in there so it works again. Backyard engineering at it's best!

Whilst working on that I noticed that the hoses were nasty and the brush area looked like somebody tried to clean up mud.

Disassembled the entire vacuum, cleaned the muck out, air dried it all and put it back together. It sucks like a $50 hooker again. Note: I have no 1st hand knowledge of hookers but I am assuming the best.

We don't even own a conventional vacuum. I had one at my bachelor pad but I sold it at my entire house garage sale when I got married. My wife had a central system in her house.

When we moved in all we had was a little battery operated unit designed for a quick cleanup in a closet or bathroom. I did the full install of a central system as my first chore. We were still moving in and it was March. I knew it was going to be HOT up there fast. It took me a week to run the pipes and wires. It really sucks, with a canister on the wall the size of a 30 gallon barrel.

The best part is 100% of all dust goes out to that canister and none stays inside. I have seen many vacuums blowing a cloud of dust into the air. They are much better now, but my moms vacuum was a real dust maker. With my allergies I had to leave the house when she vacuumed.

Yea, the neighbors would talk if you had dirty leaves. Do you wash them one at a time or do you have a leaf washer kinda like a snowblower?

I dig those central vacuum systems but it would be overkill for our house.


I have 2 vacuums. A bagless one for upstairs that has the attachments and whatnot. The one downstairs is an of Eureka with a bag. Its probably 35 years old but works great. I got them both at rummages. I use the bagless one for cleaning vehicles.

The amount of dog hair I clean up now is MUCH less than with the old dog. He shed like crazy and it was light colored.

I guess no more salmon food for Hank. He had a couple of accidents today and it was horrible smelling. Like worse than a baby's diaper! Glad I bought the new carpet cleaner.

I just mulch our leaves. Or leave the leaves for spring when I use the rake behind the mower and put is all in the composter.

I do the same Brent. I pull them away from the fence, trees and other objects and then just ride around merrily on the John Deere mulching away. It usually takes several passes to get them really chewed up. I lower the deck to about 1.5 inches on the last run.

Before and when we moved here we had one of those Rainbow vacuums that sucked the air thru water and you dumped the dirty water in the toilet.

Not long after we moved here we had a vacuum salesman come by and demonstrate. We thought the Rainbow was really getting all the dust. He put a photo flood on the exhaust of the Rainbow and you could see the dust that was coming out. He said the dust that was coming out was dust that was going thru the water like you skip a stone. Put the light on his and you couldn't see anything coming out. It captured so much and such small particles if you just let it run without the hose as an air filter it was certified as a medical grade air filter. It has a 1 micron heppa filter

Then he put a tablespoon of baking soda on our carpet. Vacuumed with the Rainbow until we said we thought he got it all. Then vacuumed with his and showed us it pulled up almost a whole tablespoon of baking soda AFTER the rainbow.

I bought it with a week to change my mind. During that week I went a bought 7 other vacuums that were supposed to be really good vacuums. i vacuumed an area with each, then went over that same area with this one. It ALWAYS was able to get as much or more up after the other vacuums as they did. Took them all back and kept it.

Noticed after using the new vacuum for a couple of weeks there wasn't hardly any dust collecting on things in the house like it was before as well.



When we got the maid she wouldn't use our vacuum and instead used her Rainbow. She said it was the best. within a few times of her using the rainbow I noticed more dust collecting on things again, BUT I didn't say anything because she was doing the dusting as well.

My favorite vacuum was the maid doing all the vacuuming and dusting.

That is what we use. Our vacuum sit in the closet and only comes out on occasion to clean up a mess. Of course I never am the one to make the mess.

I've got 2 mess cleaner uppers. One is a small cordless vac for carpet, the other is a dust pan on a stick with a duster broom for the hardwood.

Instead of a duster mop like the maid used for the hardwood, got a bissel hardwood wet/dry cleaner machine. It does a lot better job and quicker.
