Didn't here either until brother's wife divorced him because he got MS, the sorry excuse for a human being. Evidently, in sickness and in health is contingent on getting a disability.

Mom's living will stated that if she ever got to where she didn't recognize people to just put her in a home and forget about her. When it actually happened I got told over and over how she sure was grateful that I was taking care of her. Good thing I had her power of attorney for medical decisions. My brothers and sisters would have packed her off to a home after the fist big stroke.

It was still difficult to keep my sisters from ransacking and taking all Mom's stuff while she was still alive. Just don't understand why they couldn't wait until she passed.

This afternoon made some grilled french fries from a potato. It is like they were good. And that was without salt, sugar (understand McDonalds puts sugar and corn syrup in the water they soak their fries in), or frying them in hot oil.

Sliced the tater into fries.
Soaked them in cool water for 4 hours.
Drained and rinsed the starchy water off.
Brought some water to boil, turned the burner to meduim and cooked em in water for 15 minutes.
Rinsed the starchy water off again, dried them.
Mixed olive oil and peanut oil and used a paper towel to lightly coat the fries.
Laid them out on a baking pan. peppered them, then chilled in the freezer for 20 minutes.
Fired up the grill with charcoal and hickory chips in the smoker.
Grilled them 10 minutes then turned em over and did another 10 minutes.

Came out crispy almost crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a good flavor and a touch of smoke.

Now if I can make some healthier Ketchup.

I really want to buy an ultralight. There's a buccaneer xa close by that looks awesome!
My wallet strongly disapproves of this idea though...

Was into hang gliders right after college. Got all trained up to get a license, had a front and rear hitches on my full size GMC Jimmy to put a glider rack on it, and almost bought a nice kite. Even spent a couple of weekends jumping off a cliff with a borrowed kite. Then discovered a hang glider pilot's odds were not very good at the time. 1 in 20 died, and ultralights were worse than gliders. Scared me away from it.

Instead got into dirt bikes until I broke my leg. Sold my bikes and got my first computer.

Got a little fear of death with the hang glider stats, but it was when I broke my leg on the dirt bike was when I realized in no uncertain terms I was NOT indestructible. What made me really want to stop the dirt bikes wasn't really breaking my leg. It was all the comments made by other dirt bike riders about what they broke and how many times as they rode by while I waited for the ambulance.

Golly playing accountant is fun.

Especially for a no account like me. I am not an accountant, but I seem to play one regularly. Fortunately I do have a friend that is a real accountant. He is EXPENSIVE so I keep the calls to a minimum.

Actually I have been playing as a QuickBooks paper pusher, without any paper. So is that an electron pusher? Make a PDF and email it out. I guess I did have to print a paper check and put it in the mail box so I did move some paper around.

Joe, maybe a light sport instead of an ultralight? The ultralight things seem like a carny ride to me as in you never know when they are going to fold up with you in it.

David. Good luck!

I think of my old boss on occasion. Not the arsehole last one, the great old man that started the company.

He said when he just got his first job in the oil field he had to fly down to Houston. He went to the local airport that had an airline. He paid cash for a ticket and a guy took the money, made change, took the bags and loaded them on the airplane. He stood at the door of the airplane and took everyone's ticket. The same man that sold the ticket went to the cockpit and sat down and flew them the Houston. Things have changes some since then.

My first commercial flight was on one of those bright colored Braniff 727 jets with 3 engines in the back. Flew across the gulf to get from Houston to Jacksonville. Remember looking out the windows on both sides and could not see anything but water. At 6 years old I was NOT comfortable with that.

The first flight I remember was on the way to the territory of Hawaii. It was not yet a state. We flew in an un-pressurized C-54. We faced the rear of the airplane. Hours and endless hours of nothing but waves to look at.

A user's email account at work was compromised and sent a malicious email to all 600 of our users at 9:30pm. Saw it hit my iPhone and took action. Was able to disable the account, clean it up, and delete the malicious emails from everyone's account within 15 minutes. The nightshift help desk guy noticed the malicious email and called me. The email magically disappeared from his computer while he was telling me about it on the phone. LOL. He was the only one that noticed it before i got it deleted from everyone's accounts.

Am I good or what?

My bosses installed ProofPoint Monday and have had 2 user's accounts compromised so far this week. They haven't implemented KnowBe4 training because Proof Point is gonna stop that stuff. Oh and they are locking everyone down except for the sales staff and off-site users that are getting their passwords hacked.

Well the meeting last night was interesting. It was the Oklahoma City Pipeliners organization. Just 99% men (I saw two women) getting together to network and eat and tell jokes. We made a few good contacts, maybe.

I feel confident that even after just one meeting it is a fairly conservative group. They had a prayer before we ate. Before the presentation we all stood and recited the pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The food was pretty decent. It was all held at Quail Creek Country Club which was built back during the 1980s oil boom. I had not been there since the late 80s or early 90s. It has not changed a bit. It used to be very over the top fancy, but now it looks very 1980s. They have renderings in the lobby for some plans to modernize it some.

We may join the group if we can find some people needing mapping services of a pipeline route. One of the companies we are working closely with takes our imagery and uses the same software we use, and they check for environmental compliance. They can prove the surface is restored to normal ground cover minus trees. Erosion is not allowed and drainage has been done properly. They have software that predicted one client was about to have a landslide on one area (in another state) and 10 days later the were proven right when it happened.

Just one of many directions we are going.

morning all. TGIF.

Dad was transferred yesterday to skilled nursing. He is less than a model patient so I hope they can learn to get along.

Hope Dad settles in well. Friend of mine's Mom kept trying to stab people with whatever she could find.
