The Bosch is all stainless, incredibly quite and couldn't ask for the dishes to be any cleaner.
Having 2 young kids, we often do 2 loads a day, so the dry cycles are pretty much mandatory - otherwise we're putting away wet dishes. I'm also on septic, so grinding up the food before it goes into the tank, gives me a little more peace of mind.

Besides, if I got the Bosch and it sucked your telling me you wouldn't give me a hard time? Either way Its a no-win for both of us. The Maytag will be fine - I have nothing against it heck it even has a better look to it than the Bosch, the racks are better (you know how I love a good rack!) - {BTW - she didn't find that funny}, and it will most likely dry better as well. It won;t be as quite but thats not a major concern for us anyway is it? So all-in-all the Maytag is fine. Now if you wanted a GE that would be a different story!"

She considered that a lecture and didn't appreciated being talked to like that. I told her I get paid good cash to talk like that. Those 'lectures' put her in a nice home, complete freedom, plenty of trips back to her home town when ever she wants, hired hands to help her out and an $80k pool/patio in the back yard.

I don't think I'm gonna be getting any action for awhile...

back to the dishes... I also have a Bosch from a few years ago. It works fine, and is quieter than the old one, but still have to notch up the TV when it runs

Bosch, is okay, depends on the model. Meile also good maker.
was hunting a dishwasher
all the used bosch units were very high priced
even the broken ones
found an older meile top of the line G 870se
for stupid cheap on craig's list but looked brand new
like the clock drive timer no cpu that the broken bosch units had
the unit really cleans off stuck food thoroughly
what else can you ask of a dishwasher !

Based on owning this thing for about 8 years now, would not consider another brand if this is typical of Kenmore dishwashers. Think it was 700-900 if I remember, thought it was crazy at the time. We moved to FL for about 18 months and that was the one thing about our kitchen that my wife missed the most.

My brother built a house last year and had his builder replace his Bosch with something else after 3 months. He said it was great when it worked but it broke twice and lead time on parts were 2 weeks each time, second time he said take it out.
We bought an all stainless Bosch SHE... last year, it has been great, dishes come out sparkle clean, and so quiet you can’t even hear it.
In fact we haven’t heard it since thanksgiving when it quit during the first of two loads we planned to run. Bosch service came out under warranty the first time, two weeks after we called, and replaced the mother board. It ran once and went silent again.

Bosch service came out one week later stood looking at it and said it’s broken again (very observant fellow) I will have to order a new board. We will call to setup another visit in two weeks when the parts come in.
Right now not thrilled with Bosch I’m guessing that Bosch serviceman is not nearly as lonely as the Maytag man.

one of the reasons for hunting a old used unit
is avoiding the near universal CPU control of newer stuff
fine when they work but far too often a failure point
and very expensive to replace

the non-working bosch dishwashers that fools were trying to sell
required a $250 CPU board PLUS what ever failed to knock out the board

I like the KISS principal with something as simple as a dishwasher
a clockwork timer for the sequence of always the same order of events
wash rinse dry done needs no CPU to control that
