I don't think Rick explained things properly the first time. He was going to get capped by Shane any second at that point.

Who did draw in the walkers? Shane when he fired as Rick stabbed him or Carl? If Carl, dude, that's twice he's caused deaths from the walkers.

The lone heli at the begging. Humans with the infection still in them or cured?

The mysterious dude with the sword brings an odd twist to things.

I'm bummed. I can't wait for the Fall.

Shane's shot and Carl's shot came fairly close together in time... walkers probably heard both.

The heli could be anything... military, hijacked weather chopper, etc.

Tonight's "problem list:"
1. Rick didn't need to taunt the walkers in order to get them to come after him in the barn. Dumb... just go up the ladder, they're not blind.
2. Rick and Carl could've easily waited longer for more walkers to come into the barn before lighting them off. They were completely safe up in the hayloft.
3. Jimmy drives the Winnebago over to the barn and places it perfectly so Rick and Carl can jump on the roof. Why doesn't he take off as soon as he hears their feet slam down on it? Why does he even get up from the driver's seat? Dumb.
4. Maggie and Glenn in that Lexus or whatever SUV; she comes to a stop and a bunch of walkers are in front of her. When Glenn tells her to go, why does she say, "I can't get through?" Hasn't she ever dealt with pedestrians before? But seriously... no reason she shouldn't know that she can run 'em over with a vehicle with that much ground clearance.
5. Semi-dumb line of the night (from Hershel): "They just keep coming... it's like a plague or something!"

1) I think the idea was to get more around the front of the barn to come over, not taunt the ones already there. Just my take.

3) Wondered that myself, but I guess they needed a reason to off Jimmy and make it count!

4) I think she was not able to because of the shock setting in.
4a) Later, while stopped in the middle of the road and after Glenn tells her he loves her.... Turn the car off, put towels in the windows and if the SUV is arockin', don't come aknockin'!

As for Rick's decision to keep what the Dr. from the CDC said quiet. I can see both sides to it. He also did not make that clear to Lori when they first talked.

The two deputies that were shot a couple of episodes ago and pronounced not to have any bite marks would further back up that claim, but I think Shane's rising really proved the point.

I missed that the dude with the sword was a dudette! The two walkers she had chained had no arms - obvious, but no lower jaws as well.

Yeah, you're talking about when he was yelling at them through the door and banging on the door from the inside.

I was talking about after he threw open the door and taunted them as he moved rather slowly towards the ladder. I think he was still taunting them as he went up the ladder.

One more "problem" was when the method of lighting off the barn was by dropping the lit Zippo... seems like there would be a slight chance it would blow out on the way to the barn floor. A better way to ensure success would've been to light a big handful of hay, let it flame up, then drop that... and keep the lighter for later use.

But who am I... I've never been attacked by zombies,
so maybe I wouldn't think as clearly as I suppose I would.

I had given "her" chest a good double look at first. I saw what I thought was a big "V" shaped scar - turned out to be a long necklace. It just appeared that she was wearing a cloak and no shirt.

I questioned the rounds fired from Hershel a couple of times as well, but it could have been camera angles. They film more than one at a time and could have (probably did) spliced in different angles, to make it more dramatic, causing his shotgun to have 10+ rounds at a time.

You can also look at the shotgun scene this way. Hershel, loads 8, fires 4 and hits 4. Since it's a shotgun - closer range - other walkers are farther away, so he has a chance to grab 2 shells from his pocket and reload.... ....Meanwhile, camera changes angles, so you don't see that.
