bone stock 1971 ford bronco with "three on the tree". you giggle when driving that thing. i begged my brother to take it back to bone stock..but he wont.

i am quietly shopping for my own vintage 4x4 rig.

1978 Baywindow bus, man I miss that and will own a split window some day.

Kirkham Cobra Replica in Vegas with a 427 in it. I rented it for 24 hours, any longer and I'd have been dead.

2004 Subaru WRX STI, the way that car put the power to the ground was crazy.

And in the order of the cars I currently own:
1992 911 turbo - no explanation needed
1968 Buick Sportwagon - gets more positive comments than the Porsche

My old rig is 4X2 but that doesn't matter. You get a good load in the truck and the grin won't go away!

Lot of old Minis mentioned here. They were the closest thing to a street-legal go kart - I like the trash can on wheels description!

pwd72s - they just don't know......yet.
Soon....they will understand.
What Porsche was is no more.

Put an SC in that Bullitt and few 911's will stay with you.

And the quality today is better than "those people over there."
Try it...you'll like it!
Ask me how I know.
Well, I have to confess...I'm somewhat envious of Stephanie here...her Boss 302 must be a total gas to drive. Normally aspirated, yet few 911's could stay with her...

1999 Boxster - not fast, but just plain fun
1999/1999/2003 911 - fantastic cars, all of them
2000 Jaguar XJR - 4.0L DOHC Supercharged V8 = giggle inducing instant torque. Wrapped in a sexy body, wood, leather, and chairs that are more comfortable than anything in your house.
1970 911T - old school charm
1987 951 - boost is like crack
1991 Land Cruiser/1997 Land Rover Discovery - there's something fun about putting around in a real SUV, especially in 10" of snow

my TR4. The first car I built. (yes...from three other cars) I learned all about cars with this thing. welding, painting, etc. I finished it my senior year of high school. I've had astronomical offers from people to buy it from me. It's priceless.

TR4 just after sawzalling 2 cars, and installing new floors and inner and outer rockers....circa 1998....

My '65 Merc 190c was a blast to drive. 4 speed on the column. drove like a DREAM. looked like a $100,000 car to the average person. Here are the TR4 and the Mercedes....

'88 BMW E30. Paid $400 for it as an airport car. It took me across the country for over two years. I beat and beat and beat on this thing, but it just kept going. fun to work on. Sold it a few weeks ago to a kid in La Crescenta for $500.

Here's at El Mirage Dry Lake Bed...doing top speed testing, haha....

i've owned a ton of cars....including porsches. i've enjoyed every car ive owned for different reasons. i can't pick a favorite.

Mike, what year is the TR4? My dad had a 1966 TR4A IRS when he/we were stationed at Pearl Harbor from 1974-1976. He had to leave it there and bring the 1970 Coronet back with him as the TR4 just wasn't practical as a family car. I have been looking for a nice driver for him for years to surprise him with.

Yours sounds like my 1966 Mustang that is in the garage on the lift and what I would be sleeping in before selling.

The TR4 that i used for the frame and the front of the car (with the ID tag) is a '62...so it's a solid axle. The rear body clip came from a '63. All of the parts were identical from '61 through 65. The car is absolutely the most fun cruising car around. Not fast, handles like a truck, but it is the ultimate conversation starter (and cougar magnet. when i was 18 driving this thing around, the old ladies were going crazy.)

the main thing for me, is that it's what really brought me and my dad together. we spent 4 years working on it. heck, he even convinced my mom that we "needed" another shop to work on the car. so he and i built the new shop. and we "needed" a 2 post lift, etc. the car really just represents the memory of me and my dad. ...and for that it's priceless.

I don't know, the newer diesel trucks are pretty great. We've got a 99 dodge that we've swapped out the fuel delivery system with some high output stuff....

Damn that truck is fun.

most fun car I have ever driven would have to be either a 4 speed, '72 V-12 XKE roadster or an old Lotus 7. The Jag was beautiful, made amazing noises and was a sweet handling beast. The 7 handled great and really quick due to light weight, but is sort of an ugly duckling.

I have had a few pretty fun little cars, the super beetle convertible was great, put over 250,000 miles on it, not sure how much over, as the odometer quit working a few years. It was sort of like an underpowered 914. I would have to call it a toss up between the current DD, the Mazdaspeed Miata or the 914. I like driving that 914 better than a 911, despite it being so damn slow and ugly.

1977 911 Targa
1976 Super Beetle

1978 Honda Hawk motorcycle beat the cars, and the hovercraft beats the motorcycle.

The day I delivered the old E to its new owner, I was enjoying every mile of the drive through the back roads. You know your face hurts after grinning for an hour and a half?

Best
