About 7 hours a night for me if I'm lucky. It takes me forever to fall asleep. My mind won't shut off! Sometimes I will lay awake all night. I have been that way all of my life. I'm 51 now. Last night was a rare occasion. Went to bed at 8:00 and woke up at 5:30 refreshed. Alcohol really messes with a good sleep. I'm finding that the more I do without, the better I sleep. The alcohol is okay for putting you to sleep but when it wears off in the middle of the night, you wake up and can't go back to sleep.

For 7 years, I had chronic insomnia and it was the only sign of the liver disease that I have. As soon as the liver enzymes were brought down to the normal levels, the insomnia left and I'm sleeping "normally" again.

6 hours. Seldom more. And i never sleep past 7am no matter where I am or whatever time zone I am in.

Here's a road warrior tick: when you wake up in the middle of the night, never look at the clock. Leave the curtain slightly open so you can see if it is still dark. Looking at the time will just get your mind going.

6 to 6 1/2 hrs most weeknights, 7-8 on weekends. 7 hrs works best for me over all, but I hate going to bed at 10.

About the same for me, a good 6 hours on average. The good thing is since diagnosed with sleep apnea 6 years ago and on a CPAP since I sleep ilke a baby and wake up refreshed. One of the most undiagnosed conditions out there with severe negative consequences. If you are not sleeping and you snore......GET CHECKED OUT.

I have never been able to sleep past daylight. If I wake and it's light out, I'm done - period. Just can't do it. No daytime naps - don't even bother trying.

Usually 6. Less on the weekends this time of year, but it is made up with an afternoon nap.

"I haven't slept in 40 days, cause I always sleep at night" Quickdraw Mcgraw....

When my 4 year old goes to bed, I am the next one to go to sleep. I think of it as reverse sleeping in....

Usually 6-7 hours of sleep. No alarm and awake by 5 am. I am one of those sickening morning people, but not until I have a coffee and a little quiet time to wake up.....

Argh, it doesn't matter what time I go to bed I wake up between (yes exactly) 4:11 and 4:20 in the morning. This morning I woke up a couple of minutes after 2am so it's been a REALLY long day already. I'm going to take some medication my doctor gave me called Amitriptyline. It's actually for mad people, so it may have just been a polite way of her saying I'm mad and please take some medication.

In bed NLT 10 pm, sometimes 9, and sleep fast and hard for 4-5 hours then it's awake trying to turn the brain off until the alarm goes off at 6:30 AM. I have not slept more than 5 straight hours in forever. Weekends when there are no kids sports are better as I generally sleep again from 6:00 AM until 9:00 AM.

To sleep at 2am, alarm at 8. I'm usually awake by 7am because of inconsiderate stompers and cabinet slammers.

I often go to bed at 10 and wake up at 2AM. I take half a sleeping pill if I wake up before 2:30 or I'm up for the rest of the night and ready to go back to sleep at 7 AM. Lately I've found listening to podcasts or a book on CD will help me get back to sleep. I would love to go back to falling asleep at 10 and waking up at 5.

I sleep worse since I retired. I'm in bed after the daily show, fall asleep to letterman..11:30. I like flatbutt sleep until my bladder fills, anywhere between 4 and 6 a.m. Sometimes I get up then and sometimes I don't. I usually take a 1 hr. nap around 3 p.m.
Gig nights, I get in around 2:30 make something to eat, asleep by 3:30 sleep until 10 a.m.

Phew, I'm pleased my GF doesn't know the combination to the gun safe. I've been walking around like a zombie after my hell good sleep. Tonight I may only take half a pill. Sure does work, the best sleep in months.
