So, no one has tried to pick off the motor and wheels yet? People must be slipping. In the old days the car would have been already parted out in a virtual sense.

But wait, I don't know what PM's have been sent.

Total bummer that this happened so needlessly. Great to see that your good spirits are carrying you thought this ordeal. We are all feeling for your loss Bro, hang in there.
I'll bet a really nice replacement comes your way, and soon I hope.

Cheers Richard

Glad you are doing well and sorry for the loss of your car. Hope the insurance company pays up, it was a really nice looking car.

I agree that it is time to lawyer up, that is not an everyday automobile and she ran a stop sign. In a hurry or not you don't run stop signs...Christ it could have been a kid crossing the street.
Exactly...she could have killed someone and is damn lucky that she didn't. She should pay, big time. Her learning a lesson isn't enough, everyone she knows has to know how hard she fked herself.

It's sorta strange that for all the damage to my car, not a single piece of glass got busted, including the windshield which popped out and landed on the pavement. Not even cracked.

Still no news from any of the parties involved. Luckily I know where they all live., Also my immediate family includes two lawyers and several doctors and a couple of wise guys.

In any case no one much bothers to "lawyer up" up here as everything is limited to what you can settle for. If I had a broken neck might be a different story. For my little aches and pains= 10 cents tops. Canada you know., everybody tries to play nice.

Those windshields are pretty rugged.
My wife and i were headed down a two lane road one day when a log truck coming the other way dropped a rock the size of a 50 cent piece off the trailer. It bounced on the road once and hit directly at eye level on my side. I ducked ,thinking it was going to shatter, and when i looked back up i couldn't believe it was still in one piece. My wife was amazed that it didn't break.
I told her that i bet it will crack before we get home.......2 years now .....still waiting.

Damn shame, that was a beautiful car. I'm glad you weren't hurt, and hope the lady at least has a shred of integrity and admits fault. That's the least she can do considering.

The crowd around yesterday's accident couldn't believe that windshield was lying in street like it was and not damaged, until I picked it up and put in the passenger seat. Tuff car, that's why we like 'em I guess.

Hi Dennis
Hope everyone is okay.
I bought a 1970 911T in Halifax about 10 years ago, drove it to Moncton that day. That evening my son and I went for a spin in the neighborhood and I got T Boned, so I feel your pain.
You should come over this weekend to the Atlantic Nationals to take your mind off it.
Steve

Hi Steve, Thanks for your kind words and sorry about your car too! I always go the Nationals and will be there mid day Friday. Best show in Canada.

Taking my '29 Chevy Street Rod.

Still nothing much happening, so went to Moncton Nationals, over 2000 cars, here's a few pics.

some car show shots, one of the red Barracuda is a car I see every year and it's one of my favorites. Nice clean little pony car. Enjoy. [img]

Nice early Plymouth sporting a Cummings turbo diesel

Lastly my friend and Hot Rod builder (he built my '29) with his 36 International

Even though several here are back-handedly suggesting otherwise, don't lose your dignity or honesty over this.

if unit body is pullable, then time & cost are the issues, since it is not a rare 72S or anything

Honestly, it'll never be the same car.
In my honest opinion, I would re-shell it into a clean tub.
Do you have any pictures of the underside yet? What's the tunnel and opposite floor like? If any of that is bent I wouldn't be trying to fix it. Not because it's impossible, but because the amount of time and money it will take it makes more sense to buy a decent tub and give it to a paint shop, then reassemble it.
