I've sold performance mufflers in the past before, I think I got in the $800-$1000 range from them. I suspect you could get about the same. Rennlist has a way more active marketplace for 996 stuff, worth joining if you have some selling to do.
Thanks Matt, didn't see that before. I knew they were expensive but that's outrageous. Yeah I signed up on rennlist a little bit ago. If anybody wants a set of pse mufflers pm me!

Actually, there is not a really big market for them. Most people will simply do the Fister mod for 1/4 price. I looked for a set of those at first, but to get the switches and solenoids, is not worth it because the hack is so cheap and many people agree sounds much better. You'll have to find someone who wants OEM stuff.

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I'm strongly considering selling mine to pick up a disposable new daily driver. Too much other stuff going on in my life, and I need to get started on my 1970 Mustang project.

I'll probably be listing within a month or so. It's a 2000, Metallic Black over Graphite Gray, factory aero kit, factory carbon fiber, full leather interior, 3-spoke wheel, Litronics, PCM nav, LN IMS, clutch, RMS done at 90k, tons of recent little stuff, OZ Alleggerita wheels with new S04s, Fister style mufflers, metallic black painted console, 997 shifter with EvoMS SwiftShift and Rennline knob, and a lot more that I'm forgetting. Lots of records and the original window sticker included. It's very clean and an excellent driver. I'll probably list it at $24k.

I find myself saying this entirely too often... but if only it was a 996.2...

+1 on more pics and details from Dave.

I'll concede that the 996.2 is a marginally better looking car, and the base interior is improved. But having owned both I actually prefer the 996.1 experience. It feels more sports car than GT, but is still very livable.

Call me vain, but I just can NOT get over those headlights. Which is weird because I actually thing the .2 headlights are great. Most people seem to hate them all.

I despise the base model lights with the orange signals. I'm cool with the Litronics like I have on mine.

It most certainly is. The continuous red reflector is a dead giveaway, if the angle of the photo doesn't show the widened rear fenders.

You've obviously forgotten the Camry SE. Remember, SE stands for Sport Edition!

Brad, OWP, Shaun,

It is a 2005 (yes, 2005) 996 C4S in Seal Grey Metallic over black full leather interior.

I've been researching and shopping for months. After deciding what I wanted, I got tired of trying to find a car with all the options I wanted. Finally, I realized the C4S has most of what I want as standard equipment. While the 996.2 interior is better, the full leather option is best. The wider stance of the C4S/996tt also break up the slab-sided complaint of the standard 996 body.

The car came from a good home but not a great home. Basically it suffers from 70K of deferred maintenance other than religious routine oil changes. It came to me undriveable and throwing misfire codes on 4 cylinders - plugs and coils fixed that right up. Now I've started pulling the engine bay apart - I'm doing the air/oil separator (AOS for your rennlisters), plus serpentine belt and all idlers. When I started tearing things down, I noticed a scary-looking six inch crack in my coolant tank, so I picked one of those up too. Relatively cheap at around $175, and much easier to access while I have the rest of this stuff apart - inexpensive insurance. I went ahead and dropped $400 on a PPI, which revealed an immaculate sump - no concerns about the IMS bearing at this point. I will get an oil analysis after 5K to verify engine condition, and then swap in an upgraded bearing whenever the clutch needs replacement.

Initial impressions - I totally love it. The interior is great and still smells like a new car after 8 years. The Turbo brakes and suspension are amazing. I have only driven the car ~100 miles, mostly highway, so far - but the one on-ramp cloverleaf I took, the car was unflappable and fast as hell. The gearbox and shifter are excellent. Engine is really fast, really responsive. It sounds great on-song but is quiet as a Camry cruising in sixth gear on the interstate. A buddy of mine who also just picked up a 996 is already tempting me with a sport exhaust mod he did to the stock mufflers...which take like 15 mins to remove...hmmm

Loaded on the trailer and headed out to the shop.

Clean but covered in pollen. C4Ss have hips - something most 996s sorely lack.

Even at stock ride height, I can just barely get the lift arms (with some thin pieces of wood as buffers) under here.

I really like a black 911 interior - always have.
