Great looking car Dave, congrats! The 997 shifter is a great upgrade, I found mine used for under $200. Fister exhaust mod is also a must do, great growl on acceleration but no louder than stock at cruise. If you don't listen to CDs, you can easily replace the CD holder with another pocket, comes in handy with limited interior storage.

That does look great. When I had mine, I went from stock to PSE-hack, then to Fisters. The PSE was a big disappointing, IMO. The Fisters were amazing, though. If you do go that route, it will probably be faster to send him your stock mufflers rather than waiting for his core exchange to come in.
Also, it only takes 15min the SECOND time they come off. Mine were quite stubborn the first time.

I had the Fister mod done locally for $60 by an exhaust shop that does lots of custom work. I took them a few pictures and the cans, they were done in an hour. I initially tried to send them to Fister, but he was unresponsive to my emails.

Worth mentioning that the IMS on '05's and newer is not changeable except when you tear the engine down to long block. Only rev's 1 & 2 of the M96 are externally swappable at a clutch change.

I have recently decided that I will never drive anything but a 911 for the remainder of my short years here with all of you. I will be 52 this year so that works out to 3-4 more cars before I am pushing daises. My entire family is in agreement and my son will be the immediate benefactor, tough position to be in

No worries on the IMSB - while it is an '05, this car is still an M96.02 car. Porsche built a few C4Ss and 996tts in 2005 as they transitioned over to 997 production. OWP...can I interest you in a well-cared-for 928...

Don't think that will help with the "tired of wrenching" comment.

I like the cab. I would pay $6 or $7 for the red car, not sure why it can't be driven...scares me.
Fix the tranny and drive it year round. I would.

Because of PIA Customs import regulations I'd have to find a 1998 car to buy which makes it a 993. Looked at Ebay and there is only 3 993's listed and those start at $65K. Why are the 993's so much more money than a 996?

What's about with this one, 268,000 Miles, makes me looking forward to a lot more miles with mine (currently only 80,000 Miles)

Agreed on max. $13k, I would probably tend more towards $11k, but interesting that there are 996 out there with a lot of miles on it. I just wanted to point out that high mileage should not scare people away, these cars are fantastic (I'm on my second 1999 996) and they should be driven
Good luck with your search!
